We are the voice of the voiceless. The defender of the helpless. Our efforts create second chances.

We are Second Chance Equine Association.

Our Mission is to

Rescue, Rehabilitate, Relocate and Re-educate

Rescue: We serve as the arm of the Humane Society in cases of abuse and

neglect of any Equine.

How does it work?• A formal complaint is filed

• We assist the Humane Officers in the seizure of the animal onsite.•A full medical exam is performed.

• The animal(s) are taken to a quarantine barn for 30 days.

Rehabilitation: There are 2 stages of rehabilitation

Stage One The Physical Needs• Eliminating parasites

• Attending any physical impairments such as injuries or lameness• Addressing the nutritional needs and getting it back to a proper weight.

Stage Two The Emotional NeedsThis stage addresses the emotional scarring of an animal which manifests

itself in unacceptable behavior. The bad behavior makes the horse unsafe to humans and/or stressful to

the horse itself.

• Understand how the horse thinks & learn it’s language• TL (tough love) Establish Respect & Leadership then develop Trust thru

Gentling exercises • TLC (tender loving care) You can never have too much of this!

Relocation: After ALL legal judgements are finalized we can place the horse in a new

home in one of two ways.

• Foster care• Adoption

Criteria for placement• Proper accommodations, shelter and pasture• Background check or any past animal abuse

• Personality compatibility

Re-Educate: Our Goal is to prevent problems as well as promote proper and safe

interaction between humans and horses through education.

• We offer monthly speakers to our members• Promote educational seminars by associates who share our common

interests• We offer hands on horse training clinics to the public

• We engage in public speaking for social groups• We provide FREE training videos online

What People All Over the Country are Saying:

I tried several different techniques on him but nothing and I mean NOTHING worked. I tried your videos/tips and in one day I had a completely different horse. You would NOT believe the difference!

OMG!!, i have never heard of this type of desensitizing, I am so inspired by you, awesome video, thank you so very much for posting this.

Thank you for doing these videos. I won't mention any names but there are some high profile horse gurus who wouldn't give away a single bit of knowledge.

That is very sad because it's the horse who benefits at the end of the day. I wish you every success & I will recommend your channel far & wide.

I absolutely love what your organization does for horses and I am a massive fan. Looking forward to seeing some more of your videos! :)

Excellent video! It's nice to see someone taking their time with the horse and doing it right in a safe and consistent manner!

Our Vision: To establish a safe haven horse park that will benefit and enrich the lives of both horses and humans. A place to serve as a shelter for

the helpless as well as a place of higher learning.

There is a BIG Difference between SCEA and the typical Animal Shelter for dogs and cats

• Horses are BIGGER

• Facilities need to be BIGGER• Medical bills are BIGGER

• Feed bills are BIGGER

• Everything is BIGGER except the number of Qualified Handlers

and Rescue Organizations... that number is smaller
