3 Business Features
Modeling
Enterprise Credit Pooling
Use Enterprise Credit Pooling is the sharing of counters (minutes, SMSs, other credits) between multiple provider contracts in order to implement pooling plans designed for corporate subscriber accounts. For small business company, you can configure this model in SAP Convergent Charging by sharing a pool of counters with provider contracts relating to the same subscriber account.
Large Subscriber Account Support
Use You can implement business-to-business (B2B) models model in SAP Convergent Charging 4.0. For large companies you can configure this model by configuring the master data related to the customers of a service provider. You set up:
Multiple provider contracts: Corporate and employee contracts Multiple accounts: Corporate and employee accounts Multiple technical identifiers: Employee technical identifiers
Thousands of provider contracts can belong to a subscriber account.

Master Data for the Service Provider
SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 provides some changes with the master data related to the pricing logic for a service provider.
Chargeable Item Package (Changed)
Use The Chargeable Item Class replaces the Chargeable Item Package. This replacement has two consequences:
The user does no longer need to subsume a Chargeable Item Class under a Chargeable Item Package.
The user usually creates a Charge that is associated to a Chargeable Item Class. However, the user can also create a charge without associating it to a Chargeable Item Class if the price plan of the charge only uses Recurring Rates and One-Shot Rates components but no Usage Rate components. But do not forget that this option is irreversible because if a Usage Rate component is necessary to run the price plan, the user must create another Charge.
For more configuration information, see in SAP Help Portal at: http://help.sap.com/cc SAP CC 4.0 Core Tool Chargeable Item Classes .
Mapping Tables and Classes (Enhanced)
Use The mapping tables and the mapping table classes have been enhanced with additional information. You are now enabled to define additional information for any mapping table or mapping table class.
You can dedicate a subscriber mapping table to each end customer of the service provider in case of convergent charging based on provider contracts.
For more configuration information, see the SAP Help Portal at: http://help.sap.com/cc SAP CC 4.0 Core Tool Mapping Table Classes and http://help.sap.com/cc SAP CC 4.0 Core Tool Mapping Tables .

Range Tables and Classes (New)
Use SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 provides you with new business data tables that are recommended to design and configure the pricing logic that includes tiered pricing or scaled prices.
A range table is a table of business data for mapping ranges of positive numbers to a set of output string or number values that represent prices, unit prices, or other credits. Some combinatorial rules

can be applied to output values to compute final values and supplementary values. Intelligent pricing logic is associated to compute values by designing basic or complex algorithms.
You can dedicate a subscriber range table to each end customer of the service provider in case of convergent charging based on provider contracts.
For more information, consult the SAP CC Library in SAP Help Portal at: http://help.sap.com/cc SAP CC 4.0 Application Help Master Data Master Data for the Service Provider .
Effect on Configuration To design the pricing policy of a customer service, you can configure in SAP CC the pricing logic that includes tiered pricing.
You need to:

Customer Related Tax Information (New)
Use SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 supports new information in the subscriber account of the new data model:
Customer Country Code Business Category (B2B, B2C) VAT
Refilling Function
Refilling (New)
Use You use this business process
Integration by Default (New)
The refilling function is integrated with SAP ERP/FI-CA for Convergent Invoicing. Consult the first chapter about the value scenario Error! Reference source not found. in this document on page [Error! Bookmark not defined.].
If you plan to implement this function for another scenario, consult the Implementation chapter on page [25].
Immediate Threshold Refilling (New)
Use SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 gives the possibility to refill the prepaid balance of a subscriber account according to events which may occur on these accounts. A dedicated refill logic component named "Account Event Refill" has been introduced to implement this new feature. Contrary to the existing recurring refill component which works in conjunction with the internal scheduler, refills generated by the "Account Event Refill" component are immediately taken into account.
NOTE This new refill component has been designed to deal with future events, but the SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 version of this component only deals with one event. This event corresponds to the moment when the prepaid balance falls under a given threshold users can specify.

Recharging Function
Session-Based Charging Function
High Availability (Enhanced)
The session-based rating and charging function is enhanced to improve the high availability of the convergent charging services of SAP CC Core Server. Consult the Architecture chapter on page [23].
MSCC Support (New)
The MSCC Support function enables using MSCC AVP of CCR during session-based charging. It is now possible to have credit-control on several services in the same user session. SAP CC Diameter Server is able to handle several MSCC AVPs in incoming Diameter credit control requests and provides the corresponding number of MSCC AVPs in outgoing Diameter credit control answers.
The serviceDictionary.xml configuration file must be customized in order to benefit from the functionality MSCC Support. See the Configuration Guide for more information.
New APIs are provided for session-based charging. See the HCI
section on page [37].
Charged Items Aggregation (New)
The Charged Items Aggregation feature gives the possibility to merge multiple charged items into a single one, according to defined aggregation policies. These aggregation policies define some aggregation rules and reporting conditions which must be applied to charged items during charging operations performed in session-based execution mode, in order to determine whether 2 charged items must be aggregated or not, and decide whether a pending charged item must be reported or not.
NOTE The Charged Items Aggregation feature is only available and relevant for charging operations executed in a session-based mode, and only concerns charged items related to service usage. As a consequence, only charged items related to the same consumed service can be aggregated.
For more information, consult the SAP note related to the SAP CC 4.0 SP11, available on SAP Service Marketplace at: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1832034

High Availability for Session-Based Charging (Enhanced)
The session-based charging function is enhanced to ensure the persistency of session data for:
A maintenance modification of the landscape (instance map changes) A crash of a rater instance of the SAP CC Core Server A crash of a host machine
This improves the HA concept of SAP Convergent Charging 4.0.
NOTES A technical service (session backup) ensures that no session is lost. It is in charge of saving
the sessions out of the data cache of the Rater instance so that the cache partition can be moved to another Rater instance and that the cache values are restored after a process or a machine crashes.
The session backup service works in transactional mode. The default implementation of the backup service uses the Core Database. A table is created
for each partition from 1 to 480.
Performance (Enhanced)
The rerating performance has been enhanced.
Core Server: Rater Instances (Enhanced)
The rater instances of the SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 Core Server have been enhanced with the following functions:
Generation of refill records Output of alert notifications in files HA concept for session-based charging
BART Server (Enhanced)

Service Operation Processing: Bundle Mode and Mass Mode (New)
Use SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 Web Services provide two particular modes for bulk processing: The bundle and mass modes. The bundle or mass operation groups multiple single operations for processing by the connected SAP CC system. All the single operations are the same type. The single operations are sequentially executed.
You implement the operations in bundle mode or in mass mode according to your business requirements and context.
Bundle Mode (All or None) Mass Mode
The bundle operation groups multiple single operations for processing. All single operations are successfully performed or none: The processing stops at the first failed single operation and the modifications done by the previous single operations are cancelled in the SAP CC system.
The mass operation groups multiple single operations for processing. Most of the single operations are successfully performed whatever the failure of certain single operations: The processing is never stopped (except for a system failure) and the modifications done by the previous single operations remain in the SAP CC system.

Bundle Mode (All or None) Mass Mode
The overall bundle result includes a list of successful single results.
In case of business error, the overall result is failed and includes a list of successful but not applied single results and one failed operation.
In case of system error, no change applies. The SAP CC system replies a SOAP fault.
The overall mass result includes a list of successful or erroneous single results.
In case of some business errors, the overall result is successful and includes a complete list of successful or erroneous single results.
If all the single operations fail then the mass operation fails.
In case of system error, no change applies. The SAP CC system replies a SOAP fault.
The required implementation of the error handling is facilitated: Your application must send again the same request once the issue has been fixed. Each time an error occurs, you must restart from the beginning.
The required implementation of the error handling is intelligent: Your application must be able to take into account the successful and the failed single operations to only send again the relevant single operations later on. All the business errors are immediately listed in the mass result.

Session-Based Charging (Enhanced)
SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 Release Notes Delta
Information
August 2013 CUSTOMER 38 /56
Use SAP Convergent Charging 4.0 provides a new set of APIs dedicated to the implementation of multi-service session-based charging services.
You develop a mediation application that can manage multiple charging sessions of quota reservations and consumption confirmations related to the usage of several customer services or several options of a customer service.
Within this multiservice session, you manage the charging sessions (of quota reservations and consumption confirmations related to the usage of one customer service) with:
Reservations Confirmations Cancellations Reservation extensions
The following methods were added to the classes AsyncStatefulServiceClient and StatefulServiceClient:
StatefulServiceClient AsyncStatefulServiceClient
CCR Initiate createSessionStartOperation createSessionStartAsyncOperation
CCR Update createSessionUpdateOperation createSessionUpdateAsyncOperation
CCR Terminate createSessionStopOperation createSessionStopAsyncOperation
The behavior of these methods is very close from the already existing ones (startRate, updateRate and stopRate). The main difference is that they enable to group reservations, confirmations and cancellations into one request. See implementation information in the Configuration Guide to determine which APIs you should use.
createSessionStartOperation
This method enables to create several reservations in one call. Calling the method createSessionStartOperation is very similar to calling the method startRate several times.
createSessionUpdateOperation
This method enables to handle several reservations, confirmations and cancellations in one call.
createSessionStopOperation
This method enables to create several confirmations and cancellations in one call. Calling the method createSessionStopOperation is very similar to calling the method stopRate several times.
See the API Javadocs for details about the new APIs for session-based charging.
