This is the beach of Pampelonne (5 km

long), where American soldiers landed on August

15th, 1944 to free us from the Germans.

Tropez (or Torpes), a martyr who was tortured and beheaded by the emperor Nero (68 AD) because of his faith in Christ.

• His body is said to have arrived in a small boat, with a rooster and a dog, from Pisa, Italy to Saint-Tropez, France

 • The Tropezians have celebrated the "bravade"

from 16th to 19th May every year for more than 450 years.

• "Bravaders" wear blue, white and red.• Some other people wear traditional clothes.• “Ad usque fidelis” is Latin for “Faithful till the end.”
