The Inauguration

Rotaract Club – Gachibowli began its journey on 26th Sep., 2010. Rtn. Satyam, District Regional Chairman – Rotaract, Rtn. Ramachandran, RC Gachibowli – President, Rtn. K. S. Sharma, RC Gachibowli – Director New Generation (not in picture) were few of among the Rotarians present during the installation ceremony held at Hill Ridge, Gachibowli. All the Office Bearers and Members took their oath and committed themselves for their journey towards serving humanity.

Exposure Trip

Date – 09th October, 2010

Venue – Mahindra Satyam, Miyapur – Bolaram

Along with the NGO Nirmaan – Hyderabad, we took a day trip for the students of Kondapur and Lalapet

Government Schools to the Mahindra Satyam Training Center. The trip exposed the students about

having a career in software industry. A tour around the campus was arranged for the kids. Various short

speeches by the officials of Mahindra Satyam on motivation were given during the tour. The students

were counseled by the volunteers about their career aspirations that they intend to undertake in the

future.

5 KM Walk

Walk for Child Education – A cause you might never stop walking for…

Venue - KBR Park , Jubilee Hills

All the elite members of Rotary Club of Gachibowli gave their presence along with Pragyan Ojha, Cricketer – India Team, to show their solitary support for child education. Donations were put into act for the construction of school structures and buying of class room furniture for the Serlingampally High School.

World Peace Day

Date - 24th October, 2010

Venue - Prathiba Degree College, Kukatpally

A joint project with the Rotaractors of Bhagyanagar was organized with the theme “World Peace”. Charts were designed with various slogans describing the theme of the project.

Packing of kits for the students of Kondapur Government School

Date – 14th November, 2010

Venue – Government High School, Kondapur

School kits for the children of Government High School, Kondapur, were bought and packing of the kits were done by the volunteers of the Rotaract Club to make them ready for distribution. The process was done smoothly and the event went on as another feather in the activities of the Rotaract Club.

Exchange of Letterhead with Rotaract Club – Aberdeen (Scotland)

Date – 27th November, 2010

With of help of fellow Rotaractor friends in Aberdeen, the letterhead of Rotaract Club – Gachibowli was exchanged with Rotaract Club – Aberdeen as a mark of support for each other in service to community. The letterhead bore the message of the Rotaract President pledging his support for the cause of Rotaract clubs around the world.

Rotaract District Sports Meet – Nizam College

Date – 11th December, 2010

Venue – Nizam College

The Sports meet saw the young Rotaractors assembling in to show their love and skill on their favorite sports! The event was a welcome one for the Rotractors of Gachibowli and Nizam College to get to know about each other and hence, make it easy in getting together for any of the Rotary projects they work on.

Blood Donation Camp

Date - 2nd January, 2011.

Venue – Hill Ridge, Gachibowli

The New Year 2011 was welcomed by RC Gachibowli by a Voluntary Blood Donation camp. The event became a natural success with the members of the club volunteering for the noble cause on the birth of the new year.

National Pulse Polio Immunization Day – 23rd January, 2011

Date – 23rd January, 2011.

Venue – Hill Ridge, Gachibowli

RC Gachibowli arranged for Polio Immunisation camps at various location in the Gachibowli region, thereby, making its contribution to ‘END POILO NOW’ initiative of Government of India. The camp was organized in Rai Durgam slum area and in the Hill Ridge community for children below five years of age.

REPUBLIC DAY

Date – 26th January, 2011.

Venue – Government School, Kondapur.

Republic Day celebrations were celebrated along with the students of Government Primary School, Kondapur, with the usual mark of enthusiasm and patriotism that were put to display by the school children.

PDRR Jeremy Charles Visit

Date – 30th January, 2011.

Venue – Shilparamam, Hitech City.

PDRR Jeremy Charles, Sydney, visited Hyderabad on 30th January, 2011. He addressed a gathering at Shilpakala Vedika that evening. The Knowledge Transfer by such way is proving fruitful, both, in short and long run.

Polio Immunization Day

Date - 20th February, 2011

Venue – Hill Ridge, Gachibowli

The second phase of the Polio Immunization process was organized with the same enthusiasm by the Rotary Club of Gachibowli. Camps were organized for children below five years of age to benefit from the process initiated by the Indian Government. Volunteers from the Rotaract Club helped in bringing children to the camps and hence, helping in a way to eradicate polio from the nation.

RANDSTEAD Installation

The members and Office Bearers gathered together to witness the installation of the Sister club

emerging under Rotary Club of Gachibowli.

Rotaract District Conference

Date – 12-13th March, 2011

Venue –

40th Rotaract District Conference was organized for all the Rotaract Clubs that come under

Rotary District – 3150. Speakers from various clubs in the district spoke about the various

approaches that can be taken up the Rotaract clubs in service to the society. Office Bearers of

all the Rotaract Clubs under the district 3150 witnessed the event.

‘End Polio Now’ concert

Date - 13th March, 2011

Venue – Shilparamam, Hitech City

A fund raising musical event with ‘Indian Idol’ Mr. Sreeram was organized at Shilpakalavedika

with the earning from the event going towards the fund for eradicating polio from the nation. The event

was grand success that attracted the music lovers of the city to the venue followed by an entertaining

performance from Sreeram.

Holi celebrations

Date - 19th March, 2011

Venue – DESIRE Society, Bolaram

The traditional fest, Holi, was celebrated by the members of RC Gachibowli by making a visit to the

Desire Society, Bolaram, a community that takes care of HIV Positive children. The day was characterized

by sponsoring them for the day’s lunch and other stationery and provisionary items. The evening was

filled with fun by some entertaining performance of dancing skill from the children and splashing of

colors to mark Holi.

ADETS (Asian DRR Elects Training Seminar) Meet

Date – 07th - 10th April, 2011

Venue – Hyderabad

As part of the ADETS event, our Rotaract Club actively took part in organizing the seminar with respect

to hospitality and logistics. The members of the club had the opportunity to interact with DRRs, PDRRs

and DRR Elects who came from various places as far as Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, to name a few. The

participants of the meet were mainly the current DRRs, past DRRs, DRR Elects and PDRRs.

Fellowship Dinner with Rtn. Jagadeesh Reddy

The Rotaract members had a fellowship dinner in the residence of Rtn. Jagadesh Reddy from

our parent club – Rotary Club of Gachibowli.

The members of Rotaract Gachibowli joined with Rtr. Jagadeesh in the distribution of bicycles

to the students of Government School by Ms. Sabitha Indira Reddy, Home Minister,

Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Summer Camp for children living with HIV / AIDS

Date - May 11 – May 15, 2011

Venue – Radcliffe School, Balanagar

Rotaract Club was actively involved in organizing the Summer Camp planned by the DESIRE

Society, Bolaram. Rigorous networking and likes of service minded people helped the club in

donating INR 35000 towards organizing the Summer Camp. A team of volunteers were present

on the camp site on all five days of the Camp period, including three working days (Wednesday

- Friday). Movie screening during the camp was one, along with organizing outdoor games like

kabbadi, kho – kho were few of the events organized by RC Gachibowli during the camp, apart

from supporting other activities that were organized.

Old Clothes collection

Date – 8th May, 2011

Venue – Kondapur, Hyderabad

Old clothes were collected from the members of the Rotaract Club and from other volunteers

to distribute them among the needy people in the surrounding areas of Kondapur. The activity

was a joint project with the Rotaract Club of Hyderabad – East.

Water bowl Project

Meeting with Amala, Head – Bluecross, Hyderabad

Date – 8th May, 2011

Venue – Kondapur, Hyderabad

Attended the project Water bowl meet organized by the Bluecross Society, Hyderabad. Mrs.

Amala Nagarjuna, Head – Bluecross, headed the meeting. She spoke about the importance of

care that needs to be shown towards animals. The idea of placing water bowls in prime areas of

the corresponding residential locality was discussed.

Receiving water bowls from Bluecross and its distribution

Date – 3rd – 5th June, 2011.

Venue – Kondapur, Hafeezpet, Nizampet and other areas in Hyderabad.

The water bowls were received from the Bluecross Society and were distributed in the nearby

areas of Kondapur, Hafeezpet and other areas of the city. RC Gachibowli helped other Rotaract

Clubs in receiving water bowls from us and thereby enabling them to participate in the service

to stray animals and birds.

The primary objective of the Water bowl project is to place the bowls outside the residences

and in balconies to enable stray animals and birds an easy access for water during the summer

season.

Visit to DESIRE Sociey

Date – 19th June, 2011

Venue – DESIRE Society, Bolaram

Members of the RC Gachibowli visited the DESIRE Society. School bags, note books and

stationeries were distributed to the kids. Snacks were given to the kids, as well. Interaction by

the volunteers with the kids present in the society proved to a cherishing experience for both

the children and volunteers.

Rotaract 3150 Website Design

The design for the Rotaract 3150 website was conceptualized and designed by the team of

members from Rotaract Club – Gachibowli headed by Rtr. Rama Jeya Naresh. The website is

currently live and has all the updated details about the Rotaract Clubs in the district of 3150.
