WAVE WORLD YOUTH-HEALTH STUDY

One fifth of the world’s population is between the ages of 10 and 19 years old.

And many of these young people are disconnected from the support they need in

understanding and dealing with serious health issues that could affect their lives irreversibly.

WAVE WORLD YOUTH-HEALTH STUDY

The researchers found many similarities - in ALL

five cities, adolescents were exposed to

unsanitary conditions, substance abuse and violence

-- but the differences between each area were especially compelling. Overall, teenagers in Baltimore and

Johannesburg, despite being located in comparably wealthy countries, had far worse health outcomes and tended to perceive their communities more negatively.
