Prevention

Prosecution (Legal Frameworks, Law Enforcement and Justice )

Protection, Recovery and Reintegration

Policy and Cooperation

Addresses the overall framework of the response to trafficking

Includes issues and interventions which cut across the other 3 P’s.

Examples: National Plans Bilateral/regional MOUs Coordination Mechanisms

Prevention

Concerned with preventing trafficking from happening. At present, largely through:

Reducing vulnerability of potential victims to unsafe migration Reduce migration Make it safer

Awareness raising campaigns Community Mobilisation Vulnerability Reduction through jobs

and education Safe migration Protection of labour standards Measures to address demand

Prosecution

traffickers; AND Securing justice for victims; Concerns all aspects of criminal

justice response from investigation to punishment and compensation;

Important to standardise the way we talk about anti-trafficking interventions

Follows the COMMIT format and also consistent with 3 P’s and 4 R’s
