• If you want to tell someone what they said, you can

Other changes- According to context, there are other changes:

- In general, the first person is changed to the third person.

Questions in reported speech

• The subject comes before the verb: “Where do you study?” She asked him where he

studied.

• Yes/No questions use ask+ if + clause: “Do you speak Italian?” He asked me if I spoke Italian.

• Questions with wh- words use ask+ wh word +clause:

“What is your name?” She asked me what my name was.
