• Section Highlights
The number of active members is remarkably increased in 2015. Hong Kong Section supported chapters, student branches and affinity groups in organizing activities. As a result, more than 100 technical and non-technical events were held in year 2015. Three members from Hong Kong were newly elevated as ieee fellows in 2015.

• Major Events (International, National)
HK Section organized and sponsored several international conferences such as ICSPCC2015 and APSIPA ASC 2015 in 2015. We have 3 flag ship society conferences (ISIT2015, PIMRC2015 and SMC2015) held in Hong Kong in 2015 where some 5.5 million surplus has been recorded.

PG contest Bin Qian (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) Paper titled "A Near BER-Optimal Decoding Algorithm for Convolutionally Coded Relay Channels" won the 1st winner in 2015 Region 10 SAC Paper Contest. Youwei Jia (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) Paper titled "A Hybrid Approach for k-way Partitions in Smart Grid based on Laplacian Spectrum and Self-Organizing Map" won the 2nd winner in 2015 Region 10 SAC Paper Contest. UG Contest Ho, Yik Ham (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) Paper titled "Indoor positioning algorithms for iBeacon" under the Category of Undergraduate (UG) won the 1st winner in 2015 Region 10 SAC Undergraduate and Postgraduate Paper Contest.
