READING PROGRAMS THAT WORK IN

*about lexiles:The idea behind The Lexile Framework for Reading is simple: if we know how well a student can read and how hard a specific book is to comprehend, we can predict how well that student will likely understand the book.

When used together, Lexile measures help a reader find books and articles at an appropriate level of difficulty, and determine how well that reader will likely comprehend a text. You also can use Lexile measures to monitor a reader's growth in reading ability over time.

Mellissa Espiritu (Ms Millette) graduated cum laude from U.P. Diliman with a Bachelor’s degree in English. She has a Master’s degree in English Language & Literature Teaching from Ateneo de Manila University. She has recently earned her Certificate in Catholic School Leadership at St. Joseph’s College. She is a member of the Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal’s Center (an online community of principals from around the world) and the International Reading Association. She has been teaching for the past 18 years (high school and college), and a school administrator for the last 5 years. She is a prolific education blogger, Pinterest pinner, pop culture critic, and scriptwriter. But the most important thing to know about her is that she is terrified of cockroaches, is a die-hard Pearl Jam fan, and her culinary talents are limited to boiling eggs and making liver spread sandwiches.
