Even though their roots are relatively shallow and they reside on hilly slopes

with loose soil in the heart of earthquake prone California,

Redwoods are the tallest trees in the world.

They can live for over a thousand years;

This is because their roots interlock with one another

The big trees help the little trees and

the old help the young

which strengthens the entire network

When you

water a tree

the water goes

to every part of

the tree
