1. Review your source data to determine if PDI is needed

Does the data need to be transformed, cleaned or enriched?

Does the data need to be converted to a dimensional model?

Does the data require blending two data sources?

Do you need to parse unstructured data?

Do you need to parse big data such as NoSQL data?

2. Develop your initial metadata and cube models using the web-based Data Access Wizard

3. Create Analyzer Views (visualizations) and possibly Interactive Reports

4. Create Dashboard Designer Dashboards using content from Step 3

5. If required, refine and enhance your existing metadata models with Metadata Editor and Schema Workbench
