PROTOCOLS: 3G/4G• 3G/4G is a type of mobile tech giving you internet when

your Wi-Fi isn’t working. • 3G is slower than 4G because 3G offers download

speeds between 3-6mbps. 4G offers download speeds of about 14mbps.

• 3G is a mobile communications standard that allows mobile phones, computers, and other portable electronic devices to access the Internet wirelessly.

• 4G is a mobile communications standard intended to replace 3G, allowing wireless Internet access at a much higher speed.

PROTOCOLS: BLUETOOTH• Bluetooth is wireless technology that is used to

send data over short distances.• A standard for the short-range wireless

interconnection of mobile phones, computers, and other electronic devices.

• In 1994 a group of engineers at Ericsson, a Swedish company, invented a wireless communication technology, later called Bluetooth

• A Bluetooth device uses radio waves instead of wires or cables to connect to a phone or computer.

METHODS: BLOGS

• Blogs are regularly updated websites, typically run by one person, written in an informal, chatty style.

• You can create a post with pictures, videos, audio and text and publish it for anyone to see.

• People blog from many devices like phones, laptops, tablets etc.

• Blogs are for people to write about anything they like and however they want too.

METHODS: EMAIL

• Emails are messages sent electrically to another person.

• messages distributed by electronic means from one computer user to one or more recipients via a network.

• Email first entered substantial use in the 1960s and by the mid-1970s had taken the form now recognized as email.

• Neither the users nor their computers are required to be online simultaneously; they need to connect only briefly, typically to a mail server, for as long as it takes to send or receive messages.

METHODS: WIKIS

• A Wiki is a website or database developed by a group allowing anyone to comment

• a website or database developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content.

•  In a typical wiki, text is written using a simplified markup language (known as "wiki markup"), and often edited with the help of a rich-text editor

METHODS: IM (INSTANT MESSAGE)

• IM is an electronic message sent instantly to someone else

• A message sent via the Internet that appears on the recipient's screen as soon as it is transmitted.

• More advanced instant messaging can add file transfer, clickable hyperlinks, Voice over IP, or video chat.

DEVICES: SMARTPHONES &TABLETS 

• A smartphone is a mobile phone that performs many of the functions of a computer, typically having a touchscreen interface, Internet access, and an operating system capable of running downloaded apps.

• The display is often a touchscreen, which enables the user to use a virtual keyboard to type words and numbers and press onscreen icons to activate app features.

• A tablet is a small portable computer that accepts input directly on to its screen rather than via a keyboard or mouse.

• Tablets often come equipped with sensors, including digital cameras, a microphone, and an accelerometer, so that images on screens are always displayed upright.

DEVICES: LAPTOP• A laptop is a computer that is portable and

suitable for use while travelling.• Laptops are commonly used in a variety of

settings, such as at work, in education, and for personal multimedia and home computer use.

• Laptops can be used for apps and VOIP and to communicate with others.
