Solution Provider in
Food, Feed & Fuel Energy
Wheat planted on flat soil – all other conditions are same
Traditional Wheat Planting on flat soilas on Feb 20, 2010
Advantages ofPermanent Raised Beds
No tillage
Provides moist soil to plants NOT
saturated – consistent growth
Controlled traffic compact furrows
to reduce water seepage
Biota fosters in raised beds which is
like a food factory for plants
Soil cover reduces requirements of
other inputs to ZERO after few
crops
Reduce water requirements by 70%
due to little evaporation & NO
accumulation of salts
Integrated Approach to Agriculture
Agricultural productivity depends fundamentally on the sustained
FERTILITY of soil systems and on the SUFFICIENCY of
productive resources – land, water, labor and capital
Short-term and long-term success depend essentially upon the
EFFECTIVE, PROFITABLE and SUSTAINABLE application
of these resources
Soil systems involve more than chemical aspects (nutrients and
pH); also physical aspects (soil structure, water-holding capacity)
and biological aspects (the life in the soil!)
Agriculture thus depends on more than INPUTS (chemical,
mechanical, etc.) but also on their MANAGEMENT -- to
combine these inputs in productive and sustainable ways
Integrated Approach to Agriculture
Mechanization is a means to several ends, but cannot be divorced
from other elements of management
Aim is to increase, concurrently, the productivity of
land, labor, capital and especially water
This is possible with SRI/SCI methods by mobilizing the
contributions of beneficial soil biota (bacteria, fungi, etc.)
Permanent raised beds are a key innovation in this strategy for
raising land and labor productivity
Also laser-leveling for most efficient use of water
Community/shared use addresses the human/social element

Appreciations of Integrated Approach
Cornell University
“Your impending harvest of Mechanized Version of SRI Rice on this large
scale will be like a Tsunami for SRI.”
FAO
“One of my objectives is to see SRI practice integrated with Conservation
Agriculture, and with your help we should be able to do that.”
“This is absolutely great! Wishing you every success. Please keep me informed
on your progress.”
PARC
“… efforts done by your Company have surpassed all the work done in the
past.”
“ … all this technology go as a commercial product so that everyone get the
benefit.”
Customer - Olympia Group CEO Mr. Khurshid Monnoo
“ … ever since I am using your machines nothing else appeals to me.”
Cultivated 319 acres – currently under crop
Cultivable 876 acres – Barren land
Reserved for firing 100 acres
Total: 1295
Currently leased to AgriDawn (Dr. Khalid Amin
Chatta) for 1.2 M Pkr per year at ½ yearly payment
– contractor is defaulted
Limited canal water available
Under ground water at 100 ft. good for irrigation
Land data
Best Level Check is by water … flowing water through
shallow Furrows
10 Acre field is Zero Leveled using Laser Leveling Instruments
Laser Leveling System is much
advanced and saves substantial cost and time.

Objective: develop underutilized land at Lalian Firing Range into most
modern farmland
A joint Venture company shall be incorporated under the title of “Shaheen
Pedaver” manned with most experienced, talented and committed individuals
Shaheen Pedaver will pay at each yearend, prefixed land lease money
that includes investment profits (both inclusive) to Shaheen Foundation as per
the following schedule:
o Pkr. 10,000 per acre for the 1st year of cropping at the yearend
o Pkr. 15,000 per acre for the 2nd year of cropping at the yearend
o Pkr. 20,000 per acre for the 3rd year of cropping at the yearend
o Pkr. 40,000 per acre at each yearend for the rest of the lease period
Shaheen Pedaver will recruit PAF/Shaheen ex-servicemen where appropriate.
Shaheen Pedaver will provide quality farm produce mostly grown organically
at a reasonable price to PAF and Shaheen Foundation bases.
Shaheen Pedaver will run Farmers Training Centre as part of national
obligation.
Shaheen Pedaver will provide farm machinery and quality inputs on credit to
the small farmers located in the vicinity.
Shaheen Pedaver will assist small farmers to sell farm produce at a reasonable
price on harvest.
Shaheen Pedaver
Land on 10 years initial lease extendable to another 10 years mandatory if land is
not required to PAF for operational reasons.
o It may be noted that land development is a costly operation, which enhances
asset value manifolds, it is therefore required that a land is long leased to
recover the investments.
Provides an investment loan of 50 Million Pkr to Shaheen Pedaver for the
purchase of farm machinery, land development, inputs and operation. This amount
may be placed in an account that is jointly operated for a strict use as per pre-
approved budget for the specific purposes narrated above. This amount shall be
returned within 40 months. Interest on this amount is included in above mentioned
lease money.
Shaheen Foundation’s contribution to
Shaheen Pedaver
Topography survey
Site Plan to define, leveling map, space allocation for tube-wells, water
reservoir, water courses, farm access roads, crop production areas, tree
plantation etc.
Precision land leveling
Making fields as long as possible by eliminating borders, water courses,
and trees, if any
Making Irrigation water courses
Making infield roads
Soil Preparation
Soil and water sampling for lab testing to know excesses and shortages
Make Permanent Raised-beds, apply Compost, Fertilizer and Plant Seeds
Steps to be taken for the development of Lalian Farm
Apply water using siphon tubes, with an aim to make the soil moist and
not saturated around the seed and plant to avoid water evaporation that
causes soil salinity
Selection of crop rotation based on: soil, water, climate data and
marketability
Selection of machinery and its procurement
Crop production processes adoption
Selection & Development of a systems for:
o Inputs supply
o Inputs applications
o Crop production
o Disposal of Farm produce – Value addition
Construction of machinery bay, input storage, produce storage, living
quarters, offices and training room
