THE QUEENSLAND DIAMOND
Peter Positive Pelican is flying above Australia, his creative learning centre.
A giant rainbow appears.
“WOW! A giant rainbow! My favourite colours ....
RED ORANGE YELLOW GREEN BLUE INDIGO VIOLET.”
Rainbow rain falls from the dark clouds.
Peter can see a yellow-tailed black cockatoo.
WY-LAAAH! ........ WY-LAAAH!
NO POLLUTION! NO POLLUTION!
“Hello! My name is Dayleigh. I am on a mission.
I fly through Renae’s web on the diamond sparkle tree. Then I fly around
Noosa Biosphere Reserve, wailing my call. This changes the sound waves
in the worldwide web in the sky. The pollution falls out and clings to
my tail. When my tail is full I fly high into the different layers of the
earth’s atmosphere.
Troposphere Stratosphere Mesosphere Thermosphere
ZAP! Gases absorb the pollution. The pink diamond sparkle web disappears.
Then I fly back down. I can see my guiding light, the Queensland Diamond.
Dayleigh giggles and gaggles and continues on his mission higher and
higher. Finally Dayleigh flies back down. He finishes his mission for the day.
“Come fly with me, Peter! I will take you down to visit Mt Tinbeerwah,
the home of the Diamond Sparkle Tree.
WY-LAAAH! ........ WY-LAAAH!
NO POLLUTION! NO POLLUTION!
See the huge cliff of Mt Tinbeerwah below.
Peter, I must go now and have a rest before I start my mission again.”

Peter lands on the roof on Mt Tinbeerwah.
“Wow! I can see all over Noosa – the lakes, the ocean, the river.”
Peter feels puzzled. Everything is sparkling blue. Peter can hear voices.
“Natter, chatter. Chatter, natter.” Peter looks up.
“I am the Blue Rainbow of Communication. You are special Peter Positive
Pelican. You have blue crystal ball eyes. You are the windows of Australia.
Peter, you carry a V on your back. V is for VISION. You have vision, Peter.”
The blue rainbow glows brighter and brighter.
“Now you have more special powers Peter.
You have a pink pouch under your bill and a gold hook at the end.
Sunshine gold rings are around your blue crystal ball eyes.”
The blue rainbow fades away. (The rainbow becomes invisible for all time.)

Peter follows. He can smell the sweet sparkle honey.
Peter lands on a branch of the diamond sparkle tree.
“Hello, Peter. I am Queen Bec, the Diamond Sparkle Queen Bee.
This is my land, Queensland. Have some of our sparkle honey.”

“Hello!” a voice calls out.
“I am Renae, the Diamond Sparkle Spider.
I spin pink diamond sparkle webs with my spinnerets.
Dayleigh flies through my web with his yellow tail feathers fanned out.
My sticky web attaches to his tail. He takes it to the sky.
My sparkle web radiates energy and strength.
It gets rid of pollution in the worldwide web in the sky.
I need to test my web to make sure it is keeping its strength.
Peter, can you help me?”
“Sure can,” says Peter Positive Pelican.

mouth. Peter zips through Renae’s sticky spider web. He grabs it in his mouth.
Then he abseils down the cliff of Mt Tinbeerwah.

DIAMONDS IN THE SAND
Peter Positive Pelican hooks the diamond scales with his gold hook and puts them into
his pouched bill.
“We are going on a great journey of discovery across Australia.” Peter says to the
Diamond Scales.
“My mission is to develop you into sparkling diamonds.”
Peter collects sparkle honey, pink diamond sparkle web and I CAN SPARKLE from the
Diamond Sparkle Tree to take on their journey.
He flies up high into the sky.
“Diamond Scales, I will guide you onto the pink diamond sparkle web with some I CAN
SPARKLE for courage, and some sticky sparkle honey so you don’t fall. You can enjoy
the colourful landscape of Australia.” Peter says.
The wind blows Peter and the Diamond Scales from the Pacific Ocean in the east. They
fly faster and faster and they glide over the beautiful, red centre of Australia.
Peter calls out, “M-O-N-O-L-I-T-H characters climb out onto the sparkle web.”
In front of them is a huge monolith sticking out of the clouds. “Now you know why I
have brought you this way.’
The wind blows them further across the sky to the west coast of Australia.
Peter lands on a post at Coogee Beach.
“Hello!” a voice calls out, “My name is Cecily Pen-Fairy Penguin. I compose written
language. Jiggle, jaggle, juggle-jump up, giggle, reach up to the sky.”
Cecily gives the diamond scales magical powers with her special blue crystal ball. They
now have a voice. They can change their individual identity from UPPER to lower case.
Cecily gives Peter a magic voice at the end of his pouched bill. The Fremantle Doctor
Howling Winds create the diamond vowel sounds in the sand.
As the sun sets into the Indian Ocean, Cecily tells Peter, “On the other side of the
J jetty, you will find Wade Oystercatcher. He can unlock the diamonds in the sand.
Now you can write because you will find the vowel sounds.”
Wade puts his beak into the diamonds in the sand. They glow sunshine yellow.

As he flies over the monolith in Central Australia, Peter explains to the
diamond scales what a monolith means. It is a large single block of stone.
“It is beautiful like you,” Peter says. “Writing starts with you, fantastic
letters growing into words, forming sentences and making fabulous
stories.”

KALGOORLIE
Peter Positive Pelican tells the diamond scales, “Water is as precious as
gold. I am going to take you on a journey to discover gold.”
The golden pipeline carries water from Perth to Kalgoorlie 600kms away.
It goes from left to right. Peter flies up into the sky over Perth, Western
Australia and follows the pipeline east to Kalgoorlie.
“WOW! We can see two rainbows Peter,” say the Diamond Scales.
“Look at all those beautiful rainbow colours.
RED ORANGE YELLOW GREEN BLUE INDIGO VIOLET
VIOLET INDIGO BLUE GREEN YELLOW ORANGE RED
Rainbow colours going forwards and backwards in a sequence.”
Peter says, “This is a special, magical rainbow - a double rainbow. When
the violet colour connects with the other violet, they join together to
unlock the pot of gold. The gold flows out into Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie.”
Sparkling gold starts flowing out from the middle of the rainbows,
into the landscape.
Peter says, “Tap into the liquid gold from the golden pipeline.”
Peter calls out, “G-O-L-D characters, climb out onto the sparkle web!”
They disappear inside the magical, double rainbow where a new adventure
awaits.
