• 1st day of EDL is Mon. October 13

• Calendars

– Follow the EDL calendar as closely as possible

– Capitol Hill & Hazel Park follow the Elementary EDL calendar

• Cancellations

– Only on Parent Teacher Conference days or Snow Days

– Contact Transportation & Secondary TOSA to changes in calendar

– There is no programming on Election day

• You can flag students until the end of the day on September 12, 2014– after that you must hand enroll students (manual enrollment)

• Instructions in section two of manual or you can use CAMPUS tutorials

• Tech support provided by SPPS Help Desk

Attendance/CLP’s (Section Two)

• Attendance must be taken in CAMPUS every day

• If attendance is not taken that day then attendance has to be manually entered

• CLP’s are required for every student –More information coming.

Transportation system

–May take 2-5 days for students to obtain route

– Inform Transportation of any changes to your calendar

– Schools share bus

Site Leader Duties(Section Five, pp.27)

• Teachers are hired at 20-25:1 ratio of students per teacher

• Pay schedules are on pages 28-30

• Teachers can be licensed in any subject area but need to have middle school endorsement

• Applicants can be viewed on People Soft– Information regarding process will be forwarded

• Liaison between student, parents, building staff, and the OAE office.

• Visit classrooms

• Monitor students during dismissal and transitions

• Ensure attendance is entered in CAMPUS

and that CAMPUS related duties are completed

– For example: “no showing” or “dropping”

• Manage payroll.

• Snack–Must complete application on website

• Transportation

• Consumable supplies

• Schedule classes

• Locate/organize curriculum in building

• Establish attendance policy

• Staffing details, including paraprofessional staffing, located on p. 28

• Staff meetings can be held on site (see form in section five of manual); this meeting is with teachers only

• EDL does not pay athletic staff to monitor athletic students during EDL time

• Clerks are available at sites with 60+ students.

• Substitute teachers – must complete an application.

• Need to apply through HR website.

• Volunteer procedures (section five).

• Building meeting form must be filled out and sent to Deb Middleton in the DAE office.

Payroll (Section Five)

• Site Leaders are responsible for all staff payroll.

– Must verify and sign all time sheets.

• Timesheets are provided and are due by specified dates (see Payroll Dates).

• Timesheets can be mailed or hand delivered (if mailed put in mail on Monday).

• If changes need to be made after timesheets have been submitted call Deb Middleton (debby.middleton@spps.org) at 651-744-8012.

• Stamped, self addressed envelope is provided.
