Week 1• Old hat, new hat•Words relating to the old or

Antediluvian- adj• Very, very old; “before the

flood”; out of date• Though the woman tried to be

youthful, her antediluvian clothes pegged her for an older generation.

Antiquated- adj• Very old and no longer in use;

obsolete• The typewriter is a piece of

antiquated equipment.

Inception- noun• The start or beginning of something• Since the inception of the school

year, Dylan has been a hard working student.

Unprecedented- adj• Unequaled and unrivaled; head

of the game• The number of colleges rivaling

for her attention has been unprecedented.

Week 2• Is there anybody out there?

Surreptitious- adj• Done or made in a secret way• Using surreptitious tactics, Alex

has been able to infiltrate the alien world, thus saving all mankind.

Adversary- noun•An opponent• In the volleyball match,

Laura encountered a worthy adversary.

Advocate- noun• A supporter; proponent• When she’s on the court, her

biggest advocate is Jacquel.
