Dear Students, Parents, and Teachers;
Welcome to our 29th year as a Community Music Festival.
The Rotary Club of Pickering strives to hold a quality festival, and provide the best adjudicators available. This will provide each student with invaluable and constructive adjudication.
The benefits of this Festival have allowed us to take a leadership role in the Arts in Pickering and throughout the Durham Region.
As many of you know, we endeavor to send students each year to the Provincial competition. We are very proud to support the efforts of our future musical talent.
Please support our generous donors, sponsors, and advertisers, who allow us to present over $14,000 in awards and scholarships to the Festival Students each year.

About Our Club
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men
and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based and are sponsored by a local Rotary Club. This makes them true "partners in service" and key members of the family of Rotary. As one of Rotarys most significant and fastest-growing service programs, with more than 7,000 clubs in about 163 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon. How does it work? All Rotaract clubs focus on bettering their local and global communities. Humanitarian projects are set in place to raise funds and awareness for their local region as well as overseas. All Rotaract clubs also focus on professional development and encompass a social aspect. Rotaract at DC and UOIT is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Oshawa Parkwood. This year we are supporting Shelter Box, Prom Project, Raise the Roof, attending several conferences and are starting a Mentor Program. Stay tuned for more details!

Volunteer Opportunities with Rotary
The most important and valuable resource the Rotary Club of Pickering has, is their volunteers, who give their time to provide services to our community projects and events.
Volunteering at one or more of our events qualifies high school students who are seeking to complete their 40 hours of community service required for graduation. We can use your help in many different ways.

Rotary - Students and Youth
Rotary's programs for students and youth can change the
lives of those who participate. Through these programs, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help a community through a service project.
New Generations programs
Every year, thousands of talented and dedicated young people, ages 12-30, have an incredible experience in a New Generations program. As Rotaractors and Interactors, they serve in communities at home and abroad. Through Rotary Youth Exchange, they explore new cultures. And as Rotary Youth Leadership Awards participants, they learn skills that will help them succeed as future community leaders.
Educational programs
Rotary has a long tradition of fostering peace and
international understanding through education.Since 1947, Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships have given more than 41,000 men and women the opportunity to study abroad. Although the program will come to an end in 2013, new scholarship opportunities through the Foundation's new district and global grants will give Rotarians greater flexibility to sponsor scholars. Rotary Peace Centers offer a master's degree in international relations, sustainable development, peace studies, and conflict resolution, or a professional development certificate in peace and conflict studies.
