Empowering Youth For Employability and

Productivity

Realities Worth Facing• According to a World Bank report, 2012, young

people aged 15-29 contribute to the largest population (62%) of inactive people.

• Two-sided problem: Young people are out of work, and employers are short of skilled employees

• Of the above 20-24 year-olds are the majority (42%)

• You can’t just stand there and read the statistics

• There is a growing need for PERSONAL PROFFESSIONAL SKILLS

Personal Professional Skills• Personal strengths and potential fulfillment

• Effective relationships with others

• Confidence inspiration for professional excellence

• Effective communication

• Emotional intelligence

• Interpreting behavior, motives and intentions

• Decision making and critical thinking

• Goal setting and envisioning

You have to name it before you can claim it

The indispensable first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Clear personal professional path

Losers let it happen. Winners make it happen

Effective Personal Life Balancing

Call to Take Responsibility Take responsibility for the circumstances of life

Seek to respond non defensively

Attempt to build mutual success – Win-win solutions

Seek solutions rather than blame

Use persuasion rather than force

Be firm, but not rigid, about personal interests

Think both short term and long term

Be interested in other points of view

Welcome feedback

Talk calmly and directly about difficult issues

Accept responsibility for consequences of actions

Communicate a caring attitude

Seek excellence rather than victory

O.J. Simpson is quoted to have said, “The day you take complete

responsibility for yourself, the day you stop making excuses, that’s the

day you start to the top.”

Unlock Your Imprisoned Potential

Most people use about 10% of their potential;

if they use as much as 25%, they are called

geniuses. If we can go from using 10% of our

potential to using 20% we could double our

productivity and still have 80% of our potential

untapped”

Where is my 90%?

The journey starts from the inside

SELF AWARENESS

Self Awareness Module

Interpersonal Relationship Module

• Attachment styles

– Secure attachment – confortable with intimacy and independence

– Anxious–preoccupied attachment – Approval seeking

– Dismissive–avoidant attachment – Too independent

– Fearful–avoidant attachment – Trust deficient

Emotional Intelligence Module

• We've all met people who are academically brilliant and yet are socially incompetent.

• Emotional intelligence helps you build stronger relationships, succeed at work, and achieve your career and personal goals.

• The ability to monitor one’s own and others feelings and emotions, to distinguish among them, and to use this information to guide thinking and action.

Decision Making & Envisioning Module

Decision Making

It is puzzling how some people seem to take the right turns in their lives while others seem to miss

it every time they make decisions.

What Do I Want to See?

Envisioning

Do you want to grow?

You may be the one big obstacle

Thanks
