INDIVIDUAL RECOGNISE THE STIMULI AS PER HIS PERSONAL NEEDS,EXPECTATION, EXPERIENCES:

•Why We Study Perceptions

To better understand how people make attributions about events.

We don’t see reality. We interpret what we see and call it reality.

The attribution process guides our behavior, regardless of the truth of the attribution.

5

SO 3 ASPECTS OF PERCEPTION:

6

1 SELECTION

DEPENDS UPON;

CONSUMER`S PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE THEIR MOTIVES AT THE TIME

7

2.

-ORGANIZATION

INDIVIDUAL PERCEIVE A SMALL STIMULI TO BE FUNCTION OF WHOLE.

THIS CAN BE DONE ON THREE PRINCIPLES. FIGURE AND GROUND GROUPNG CLOSURE

8

3

- INTERPRETATION FIRST IMPRESSION ( never get second

chance to make first impression ) JUMPING TO CONCLUSION ( hearing the

beginning and forming the conclusion ) HALO EFFECT ( evaluation is based on just

one or few dimensions )

2. SIZE

3. FREQUENY

4. STATUS

5. CONTRAST
