MARCOPAR – PGAICET – 2015 MASTER OF PHYSIOTHERAPY COURSE (P.G. COURSE)
PREAMBLE
The M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy and Research is situated at Pune. It
is a recognized College by the Government of Maharashtra vide its permission . It is
affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. It is situated in
the Cantonment area of Pune City.
The State Government, after satisfying that M.A. Rangoonwala College of
Physiotherapy and Research has full infrastructure including required furniture,
fixture, equipment and machinery and fully qualified faculty, has recognized our
College. After recognition by the State Government, the Management of the
College has decided to start Post Graduation Course in the subject of “
Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal Sciences” with an intake capacity of 02 (two)
candidates.
FEES
Fee structure of unaided colleges / unaided seats is decided by Shikshan Shulka
Samiti, Maharashtra State, from time to time. This fee structure will be submitted
by the College and got approved in due course of time. Therefore, the provisional

fee structure will be as per last year i.e. 1,65,000/- per year subject to change after
decision of the Shikshan Shulka Samiti, Maharashtra State.
COLLEGE ENTRANCE TEST
In case of P.A. Inamdar v/s. State of Maharashtra, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of
India in its Judgement dated 12/08/2005, has decided that the Government quota
and Reservation in Unaided Minority Education cannot be enforced and further that
Minority Educational Institutions are entitled to admit Non-Minority and N.R.I
candidates. Further College can admit Muslim students from outside the State also.
Based on this Judgement, this year admissions will be carried out.
From the A.Y. 2004-05 till year 2014-2015 PNS has allowed our College to conduct
CET for Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Under Graduate ) and Master of Physiotherapy
(Post-Graduate) both for UG and PG Courses. The details of permission granted to

12) 2015-16 For Academic Year 2015-2016 permission for conduct of Entrance Test by our College for admission of students for First Year Bachelor of Physiotherapy Course for the Academic Year 2015-2016 was rejected by the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti vide its Minutes of Meeting dated 16th January, 2015 (Item No.9 and 9(b). This decision of the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti was challenged by our College before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court by Writ Petition No.5106/15. By an interim Order dated 26.08.2015, the Hon’ble Bombay High Court permitted our College to conduct our own College Entrance Test
The admission through MARCOPAR-PGAICET – 2015 shall be for Muslim Minority
candidates. Foreign Muslim students are included in Muslim Quota and they have
to appear for MARCOPAR-PGAICET – 2015 . N.R.I. students need not go through
CET. However, admission in N.R.I. Quota shall be on inter-se-merit. The Non-
Minority candidates shall appear for MH-CET – 2015 conducted by the Government
and shall apply for admission.

On the basis of inter-se-merit at MH-CET, the Non-Minority candidates will be
admitted. In case of sufficient number of Muslim candidates are not available then
such seats shall be allotted to the Non-Muslim candidates. Likewise if sufficient
number of Non-Muslim candidates are not available, such seats will be allotted to
the Muslim candidates. MARCOPAR- Post Graduate All India Common Entrance Test
– 2015 will be in the form of multiple –choice questions. The admission will be on
the inter-se-merit in this Entrance Test – 2015.
This brochure for MARCOPAR-PGAICET – 2015 contains single application form for
Entrance examination. It also contains rules for admission, process of selection, etc.
These rules are applicable only for Academic Year 2015-2016.
2. DEFINITIONS:
1)COMPETENT AUTHORITY:
The Competent Authority is an authority appointed by the College to conduct
MARCOPAR- PGAICET – 2015, declare the result, supervise and control the selection
process. The Competent Authority will issue necessary instructions for execution of

these rules and provide relevant information to be published and communicated.
The Competent Authority shall consists of Chairman and two members, who are

ii) “Courses” means 3 years Post B.P.Th degree course leading to M.P.Th. degree.
iii) “Internship” means the compulsory rotating internship to be completed as per
rules of Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) and Maharashtra State
Physiotherapy Council and concerned University.
iv) “Recognized Qualification” means the qualification recognized by the Indian
Association of Physiotherapist (IAP), Maharashtra State Council of OT & PT and
the University in India.
v) “Post Graduate Teacher” means the post graduate teacher who is recognized as
a teacher under the regulation of the Indian Association of Physiotherapist, by
Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, or other universities.

vi) “University” means the non-agricultural university constituted under the
Maharashtra University Act, 1994 or by MUHS Act 1998 and other universities.
3. NUMBER OF SEATS AND LIST OF POST-GRADUATE COURSES
The following Post Graduate (M.P.Th) Course is available and the number of
Seats at M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy and Research, Pune, is
mentioned below:

4. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
4.1 Candidate must be an Indian National. Nationality Certificate issued by the
District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate of Chief Metropolitan
Magistrate. Valid Passport shall constitute the proof of Nationality. However, it is
not applicable to the NRI candidates and foreign national candidates.

4.2 A candidate who has passed final B.P.Th examination with 50% marks and
above from a recognized Physiotherapy College included in the schedule of the
Indian Association of Physiotherapists or such other equivalent will be eligible to
appear for MARCOPAR – PGAICET – 2015.
4.3 A candidate who has completed 6 months compulsory Internship or is likely to
complete the same on or before 31st August 2015 can appear for MARCOPAR –
PGAICET 2015.
4.4 Candidate likely to complete their internship on or before 31st August 2015
should submit documentary proof from their Principals/ Dean of the College
regarding the likely date of completion of internship.
5. CANDIDATES NOT ELIGIBLE FOR APPEARING :
5.1 Candidates who are not completing Internship on or before 31-08-2015.
5.2 Candidates who are registered for PG Degree/ Diploma and have not
completed the terms.

6. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
6.1 An applicant seeking admission to the MARCOPAR-PGAICET – 2015 will be
required to submit single prescribed Application Form, which can be obtained from
office of the M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy and Research, Pune.
6.2 The blank Application Form will be available at the office of the M.A.
Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy and Research at Pune on payment of
prescribed fees of Rs.1500/- by cash/ DD drawn in favour of “M.A. Rangoonwala
College of Physiotherapy and Research” payable at Pune drawn on a Nationalised/
Scheduled Bank.
6.3 The All India Common Entrance Test MARCOPAR – PGAICET 2015 fee is
Rs.1500/- which shall be paid by cash/ DD in favour of “M.A. Rangoonwala College
of Physiotherapy and Research” payable at Pune drawn on a Nationalised/
Scheduled Bank at the time of submission of application form.
6.4 MARCOPAR – PGAICET 2015 will be conducted only at Pune at :
M.C.E. SOCIETY’S ABEDA INAMDAR JR. COLLEGE,
2390 K.B. Hidayatullah Road, Azam Campus, Camp,Pune – 411 001

6.5 No original documents to be attached with the application form.
6.6 Candidate should fill the Application Form in his/ her own hand writing and
submit within specified date.
7. ADMIT CARD
7.1 The Admit card will be sent by Speed Post/ Courier or will be issued in person
to candidate on or before 14th September, 2015. In case the candidate do not
receive the admit card on or before 14th September, 2015 he/ she should contact
M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy, Pune, immediateoly for duplicate
admit card.
7.2 Issue of admit card is just an enabling provision for appearing MARCOPAR-
PGAICET 2015 and does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements
of eligibility conditions of admission.
7.3 In case of loss of admit card, it shall be obligatory on the part of candidate to
procure duplicate Admit card by paying fee of Rs.1000/- from the office of the
Examination Centre Incharge one hour before the commencement of examination

on production of receipt-cum-identity card or sufficient evidence to prove that
he/she is the genuine examinee.
8. CONDUCT OF MARCOPAR – PGAICET – 2015.
8.1 All the eligible candidates are required to take the MARCOPAR – PGAICET
2015 at their own cost.
8.2 The MARCOPAR – PGAICET 2015 will be conducted on Sunday , the 20th
September, 2015 between 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
8.3 The MARCOPAR – PGAICET 2015 will be conducted only at
M.C.E. SOCIETY’S ABEDA INAMDAR JR. COLLEGE,
2390 K.B. Hidayatullah Road, Azam Campus, Camp,Pune – 411 001
8.4 The examination will be conducted in English.
8.5 MARCOPAR – PGAICET 2015 paper will be of one and half hours duration
containing 100 multiple – choice questions (MCQ). Questions will be of single best
response objective type with four answer options. Each correct response shall be
awarded one mark. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers.
Scratching, overwriting, tick mark and multiple answers will be considered as wrong
answers and no marks will awarded to them.

8.6 The All India Common Entrance Test shall be of the standard of B.P.Th
Examination and shall cover all the subjects of B.P.Th Course. The tentative number
of questions of each subject will be as given below :

9. RESULT AND MERIT LIST :
9.1 The Competent Authority shall conduct MARCOPAR – PGAICET 2015, get the
answer sheets evaluated and prepare the Merit List.
9.2 The Merit List will be available on M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy
& Research website as per schedule.
9.3 The statement of marks of the candidate indicating marks obtained and merit
number of the candidate will be available at College office.

9.4 The candidate who wants duplicate mark sheet will have to apply to the
Competent Authority with prescribed fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred
only) paid by D.D. drawn in favour of “M.A. Rangoonwala College of
Physiotherapy & Research” payable at Pune.
9.5 There will be no rechecking/ revaluation of the answer sheets. However, the
candidate can apply for verification of marks to the Competent Authority
MARCOPAR- PGAICET 2015 directly within three days of declaration of result
in the prescribed form (Annexure “A”) along with prescribed fees of
Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) to be paid by Demand Draft in favour
of M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy and Research payable at Pune.
10. TIE – BREAKER :
10.1 Determination of the Inter-se-merit of candidate obtaining equal MARCOPAR
– PGAICET 2015 marks. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal
marks in the MARCOPAR – PGAICET 2015 the inter-se merit of such
candidates will be determined in the order of preference as under :

10.1.1 The candidate with higher aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at
First, Second, Third and Final B.P.Th Examination taken together shall be
preferred, if the tie still persists:-
10.1.2 The candidate with higher aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at
Final B.P.Th Exam ination will be preferred, if the tie still persists :-
10.1.3 The candidate with higher aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at
Third B.P.Th Examination will be preferred, if the tie still persists:-
10.1.4 The candidate with higher aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at
Second B.P.Th Examination will be preferred over a younger candidate.
10.1.5 An older candidate will be preferred, if the tie still persists:-
10.1.6 While considering I,II,III and final B.P.Th marks & aggregate for above
purpose, grace & or NSS marks not to be taken into account.

11. In case of any typographical error in mark sheet e. g name, age, sex, category,
etc. representation should be submitted within 24 hours from the date of
distribution of mark sheet to the Competent Authority.
12. SELECTION PROCESS
12.1 The selection to a Course will be make as per Merit List.
12.2 The candidate selected as per his/her Merit then he/she has to join the
courses as per procedure. In failure to join the allotted course in the
stipulated time, he/ she is debarred from subsequent admission process of
MARCOPAR-PGAICET 2015.
12.3 In case the candidate is not selected in the first round, then he/she remains
eligible for the subsequent round.
12.4 For filling of vacant seats after first found same Merit List will be considered
and no separate Merit List will be required to be filled by the candidates.

13. SELECTION PROCEDURE:
13.1 The Selection will be done as per Merit.
13.2 The list of candidate selected for Post Graduate Physiotherapy Courses shall
be displayed on the M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy and Research
website www.marcopar.com.
13.3 The First Selection list will be declared on 22.10.2015. Candidates should
report and pay the fees and submit all the original certificates with one set of
attested Xerox copies of all the certificates, at the college office on or before
26.10.2015. No separate selection letter will be issued to the selected
candidates.
13.4 If the candidates does not report within this date, his/ her selection stands
cancelled and will be debarred from the subsequent process.
13.5 The following candidates will not be eligible for subsequent admission
process.

13.5.1 Accepting registration but not reporting to the College and/ or not paying the
fees.
13.5.2 Reporting to the College, not attending the residency program regularly.
13.5.3 Unauthorized absence during the residency.
13.5.4 Paying the fees but not attending the residency.
13.5.5 If the admission given by the Competent Authority is cancelled by the
Principal as a disciplinary action/ defaulter.
13.5.6 If Post-Graduate registration given by the Competent Authority is cancelled by
the candidate.
FILLING VACANT SEATS :
13.7 After selection in first round the vacant seats, if any, will be filled up by
selection on or before 28.10.2015 by declaring the selection list on the
College Notice Board.

13.8 Any seat remaining vacant after the second round of admission will be filled in
by the College by inviting applications from the eligible candidates by giving
advertisement in news papers.
13.9 The last date of admission process for filing vacant seats for Post Graduate
Physiotherapy Courses is 31st October 2015 OR the cut-off date as declared by
the Government and M.U.H.S. Nashik.
13.10 The candidates must produce original certificates at the time of admission
and a set of attested photocopy of each of the documents as per the list given
below.

Statement of B.P.Th marks of First Year, Second Year, Third Year and
Final Year B.P.Th Degree/ Passing Certificate.
Attempt Certificate of all University Examinations.

completion of internship
Medical Fitness Certificate

13.11 Canvassing directly or indirectly for the allotment of seat would disqualify the
candidte’s admission. Influencing the staff by unfair means will lead to
cancellation of allotted seat and such candidates will also face disqualification
for appearance in the subsequent MARCOPAR-PGAICET Examinations.
13.12 The registration once granted is valid only if the teacher and the Principal are
satisfied about regularity, diligent persuasion of studies by the student as well
as good conduct.
13.13 Candidates selected for admission shall be subject to disciplinary rules of
University/ institution. Government and Management.
13.14 In case of dispute in the matter of allotment of seat/ course or any other
matter pertaining to the provisional selection or cancellation of admission,
the decision of the management of the concerned institution shall be final
and binding.
13.15 Candidate who has confirmed his/ her admission may cancel it by submitting
an application to the Principal.

14. THE PROCEDURE FOR CANCELLATION :
14.1 Candidates canceling his/ her admission on or before the cut-off date will be
eligible for subsequent MARCOPAR-PGAICET.
14.2 Candidate canceling his/ her admission after cut-off date will not be eligible
for subsequent two years of MARCOPAR-PGAICET.
15. REFUND OF FEES
a. “If a candidate cancels his/ her admission before the cut-off-date, then
College/ Institute should deduct only upto Rs.1,000/- as administrative
charges and balance amount of fees paid by a student be refunded, within
two days, otherwise the same amount to profiteering and charging of
capitation fees. The Samiti further directs that the College/ Institute should
also return the original documents such as mark list, etc. collected from the
students.
b. If a candidate expires invalid within three months from the date of admission,
full refund shall be made after deducting Rs.1,000/- as administrative charges.

c. After cut-off date except as in (b) above no refund shall be made.
16. DISCIPLINE:
16.1 Any candidates/ authorized representative or accompanying person is found
obstructing the admission process, trying to influence in unlawful manner/
creating nuisance, the candidate shall be liable for disqualification from the
process of selection. The decision taken by the Management in this respect
shall be final and binding.
16.2 All candidates selected shall be subject to the disciplinary rules of the
institution, University, Government and Management.
17. UNDERTAKING AND BOND:
Candidates selected for Postgraduate Physiotherapy Course will be required
to give a bond of Rs.2 lakhs supported by two sureties to serve the institution
for a period of 3 years. If the candidates fails to render the services as
stipulated above the amount noted in the bond will be recovered.

18. LEGAL JURISDICTION:
All disputes pertaining to the conduct of examination and selection process
shall fall within the jurisdiction of Mumbai High Court bench at Mumbai only
or for the legal jurisdiction of the institution concerned.
19. DISQUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION :
Any candidate himself or his authorized proxy if found obstructing the
admission process or trying to influence it by unlawful manner or creating
nuisance the candidate shall be liable for disqualification from the admission
process. The decision taken by the Principal shall be final and binding.
20. Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, shall take the decision
regarding granting of the eligibility of selected candidates.

21. CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
21.1 The students while studying in the Health Sciences Course if found indulging
in anti national activities, unlawful activities or ragging in any form, contrary
to the provisions of Acts and Law enacted by the Government, will be liable to
be expelled from the College by the Principal of the College.
21.2 Failure of the candidates in making full and correct statements in the
application form and/ or suppression of any information will be liable for
disqualification of the candidate at later state. Such a candidate will be
debarred from the entire selection process and pursuing the course of
studies.
21.3 It is responsibility of every candidate to submit proper documents. Any
attempt to submit documents, which are not genuine, will lead to cancellation
of the admission of the candidate, forfeiture of the fees, deposits and
expulsion of the candidates from the College by the Competent Authority or
by his authorized official. The name of such candidates shall be deleted from
the Merit list and he/ she will not be eligible for further rounds of the

selection process and will be debarred from the selection process. If deemed
fit even criminal proceedings may be initiated by the Competent Authority of
his authorized official against such candidates and their parents.
21.4 RAGGING BAN
Pursuant to the Order in W.P. (Civil) No.656 of 1999, Hon’ble Supreme Court
of India, has directed the Department of Human Resources Development and
Education, Govt. of India to take all necessary steps to curb the menace of
ragging and take severe action against the students involved in such activities.
These guidelines are strictly implemented for last 5 years in this institution, as
a result no incidences of ragging is reported.
21.5 As per the provision of Maharashtra Act XXXiii known as “Maharashtra
Prohibition of Ragging Act of 1999”students indulging in ragging can be
punished under the Act resulting in suspension, expulsion from the College
and imprisonment. Every student have to furnish the undertaking as per
Hon’ble Supreme Court directions regarding the ragging as per draft
(Annexure E) attached herewith.

21.6 Any issue not dealt hereinabove will be dealt with, when arising, fully and
finally by the Competent Authority.
22. INSURANCE
Inaccordance with GR.No.MED-100/880/CR-123/EDU-1, dated 23/10/2003”
Amartya Shiksha Yojana”, an Insurance Scheme has been introduced by Govt.
of Maharashtra. The details about this Scheme shall be known to the
candidates at the time of admission.
