Includes both individual behavior and school wide discipline

Proven more effective than punitive discipline strategies (we’re teaching and reinforcing positives)

School Wide Practices 1. Define- Above the Line Expectations-

Post and refer to frequently

2. Teach/ Precorrect- Direct Instruction (Teach-To’s)

3. -In the Moment Reminders

4. Model- Adults practice what we preach

5. Practice- Kids practice what we teach

6. Acknowledge- Daily Recognition - Weekly/ Quarterly/ Grade Level/ Whole School Celebrations

7. Reteach- Classroom procedure for minor problem behaviors - Office referrals for major problem behaviors

PBIS Levels of InterventionTier 1 (Counselor)- First level of intervention involves preliminary behavior modification programs such as a Positive Reinforcement System and Universal Strategies.Tier 2 (Psychologist)- Targeted intervention for students requiring a higher level of support including small groups or individual sessions. Tier 3 (Social Worker)- Wrap around services, Mental health and skill based groups, individual sessions
