PrefaceAbout these Visual Aids

These visual aids are intended as a reference for Rainbow Club parents and instructors of our Swim the Rainbow program.

• For parents, it should offer some explanation for the activities that may be included in their child’s lesson.

• For instructors, it offers some suggestions to assist the children on how to achieve the goals of each level.

It is not possible to provide pictorial direction for every skill, and it is well accepted that there are many different ways to achieve the same end.

Rainbow Club is very grateful to AUSTSWIM for permission to reproduce photographs from its training courses in this manual.

Visual aids are most useful to Rainbow Club instructors when teaching children with communication disabilities.
