• Homework of a particular subject will not be given to your child on the day your child has supplementary lesson for that particular subject. If your child has EL supplementary lesson on Monday, she will not get EL homework. This is to help your child better-manage her homework and not overly tax her.

• There will be homework everyday (except Supp day).

• More homework will be assigned for the weekend (incl. ACE Day).

• Pupils may be assigned class work to do. If they are fast, these sums can be finished in class, but if they are slow, they will have to bring the work home to complete.

What does this mean?

• SPEED & ACCURACY• Importance in writing down the steps, not

just the solutions. (Tendency to punch in numbers and write

down the answers -> forgot to write down number statements -> loss of method marks)

• Being careful in transference of numbers and answers.

What does this mean?

• Building stamina and speed to complete 18 questions in 1 h 40 min

• When given school work and exercises, the child must at least ATTEMPT to understand the questions and show some steps.

• (NO BLANKS are allowed as this encourages the child to be habitually “helpless” and dependent on others for answers.)

• Any attempts to do the exam questions, will have a chance of being right and getting method marks.

• Quotes :

Do not worry about your difficulties in Mathematics. I can assure you mine are still greater.

Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)
