December 12th marks the celebration of the

appearance of the Virgin to the peasant

Juan Diego on the Tepeyac Hill in 1931.

The mass for the Virgin of Guadalupe on 12/12 starts at early as 5 AM and it is know as “The Mañanitas.”

Many families attend mass with the children dressed as the Virgin of Guadalupe or Juan

Diego.

Following the tradition,

parishioners leave roses at the altar to honor the Virgin of

Guadalupe.
