the personnel educational profile covers a wide range of specialities such as engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, medicine, psychology, law.

INCDPM was awarded the Certificates issued by IQNet and SRAC, for implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2008, the Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001:2004, as well as the OH&S in accordance with OHSAS18001:2007

INCDPM Certification Body (Identification No. 1805) has been notified by the European Commission for the implementation of the certification procedures according to Directives:

ICSPM - CS Certification Body accredited by the Romanian accreditation body RENAR (Certificate No. 077C) according to ISO 45011, for conformity assessment and certification of:

- Machinery according to HG-RO No. 119/2004 (transposing Directive 98/37/EC)

- Low tension electric equipment according to HG-RO No. 457/2003 (transposing Directive 73/23/EEC)

- Other technical equipment, according to Romanian standards (voluntary area)

- Personal Protective Equipment, according to HG-RO No. 115/2004 (transposing Directive 89/686/EEC)

The Personal Protective Equipment Laboratory, the Chemical Risk Laboratory and the Noise & Vibration Laboratory are accredited and in course of accreditation, respectively , for a total number of about 100 types of accredited tests

Since 2001, INCDPM is hosting the Romanian Focal Point of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work from Bilbao, Spain, thus contributing at the collection and dissemination of OHS data based on the tripartite principle i.e. Government - employers’ organizations - trade unions’ bodies partnership

EU Projects

The most relevant was the Phare Project ”Topic Centre – Good Practices for Candidate Countries” (2003-2004) where INCDPM was Task Leader for Dangerous Substances i.e.: Partners : 14 institutions from Poland (CIOP-PIB),

Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Baltic countries, etc.,

Activities: project management, creating and developing relationships and team building with partners, management of new software tools for information exchange e.g. setting up of databases, collecting information from the MS’ websites and dissemination of information via newly created national sites, a.s.o.

EU Projects carried out under the EASHW coordination during 2003-2006

INCDPM developed relationships and appropriate ability to manage media and public events

INCDPM carried out :

- campaigns via media : radio, TV, major newspapers,

- organization of conferences, seminars and workshops with the participation of the most important actors in the field.

Among the most relevant events are as follows:

-regarding OHS, one can mention the yearly conferences within the European Week development in Romania on various topics of large interest,

-regarding environmental issues, one can mention the campaign of promoting ecological fuel, carried out through conferences, radio spots, leaflets, booklets, etc.

Relationships between the Trade-Unions’ and Employers’ Organizations

Permanent meetings in working groups with trade-unions’ and employers’ representatives:

contributed at the strengthening of the partnership with the major Romanian trade-unions’ and employers’ organizations,

enhanced the awareness regarding OHS hazards and pollution prevention.

Its position in between the central&local authorities and the enterprises made INCDPM an important partner for the authorities in substantiating their policies as well as for the enterprises in complying with the harmonized legislation provisions

INCDPM carried out risk assessments, implementation of management systems on OHS and environment, elaboration of work instructions for :

-big-sized organizations e.g. Coca-Cola, OMV-Petrom, Lafarge, Mittal Steel, Hollcim, Aker Yards a.s.o., -SMEs of various economic branches.

Relationships with Authorities and Various Size Organizations of Different Economic Branches

INCDPM is the major former&trainer in Romania on OHS and one of the most active in terms of environmental matters

INCDPM carries out:

- training courses,

- editing of manuals, guides, brochures,

legislative literature on OHS, toxicological

sheets, bulletins, etc.

Forming of Competent Personnel

The institute is involved in standardization work within various Technical Committees under the coordination of the Romanian Standardization Association ( ASRO): - TC 54: Ergonomy

- TC 136: Electrical installations in constructions

- TC 223: Technical Equipment Safety

- TC 227: PPEs

- TC 240: Lighting installations

- TC 274: Protection against noise and vibrations

Standardization Work

As a result of the scientific and applicative research work developed, a large number of patented technical solutions both on OHS and environmental issues were carried out

A constant international recognition was given to a large number of these technical solutions at international fairs and exhibitions e.g. London, Brussels, Geneva, Moscow, Budapest, etc.

Patented Technical Solutions

Target Partner Countries : - countries of Eastern Europe & Central Asia

(EECA), - particularly with Moldavia, due to common

history background, identical language and geographical proximity.

Turkish OHS Institute recently became a

partner of INCDPM and it may start being a partner in our common projects, too.
