Combining Fashion and Philanthropy, Oxford Fashion Week’s high fashion event is being run in support of the Oxford Thinking Campaign. Following the show there will be a charity auction featuring items donated to raise funds for the campaign. Among the donated items are; an Alexander McQueen bag, valued at £600 and a dress from Couture designer Dar Sara, with a value of £6,000.

The Oxford Thinking Campaign was launched in 2008. Its goal is to secure Oxford’s position as one of the world’s foremost centres of learning by developing a strong philanthropic foundation for the future. In October 2010 the Campaign announced that it had passed the £1 billion milestone. With a minimum goal of £1.25 billion, the Campaign is supporting academic posts and programmes, students, buildings and infrastructure, making a profound impact upon every element of the University of Oxford.

For those who care deeply about the important role that learning and knowledge can play in our present and future world, there can be no better investment than in the University of Oxford. Every gift regardless of size is received with genuine gratitude and a sense of humility. Each gift adds to the pool of resources from which the University seeks to secure the present and build the future. Each also represents a tangible vote of con!dence in what Oxford has been and what it aspires to be.

Ms Lindsey Davis, Student Support Development Manager at the Oxford Thinking Campaign and The Head of Development - Student Support & Campaign Executives at the Oxford Education Campaign, Ben Plummer-Powell, will be attending the show, with Mr Plummer- Powell giving a short speech about how the event is contributing to the activities to increase student support at Oxford.
