Priesthood Sunday
Today, throughout the United States, we celebrate Priesthood Sunday. This is a special day for all of us to show our gratitude to the men who dedicate their lives to lead us closer to Jesus.
We are blessed here at Saint Joseph Marello Parish to be served by the Oblates of Saint Joseph: Father Phil, our pastor, Father Carlos, Father Brian and Father Stephen. They teach, guide and nurture us on our journey to know and love God.
We thank them for their ministry of love and leadership. May God continue to bless them and bring more young men to serve as Oblates of Saint Joseph.

A Spiritual Sanctuary for All Our Blessed Mother’s Rose Garden
Over the last 6-8 months, Our Blessed Mother’s Rose Garden has been under renovation. The garden Curators, parishioners Bill Morgan and Joan Moore, and their committee, have been instrumental in transforming the garden into a beautiful spiritual haven for our parishioners and visitors. Under the care and direction of Bill and Joan, the renovation project is now complete, and the garden looks stunning.
The transformation of Our Blessed Mother’s Rose Garden includes:
a brass plate near the front of the church that directs parishioners to the garden;
a brass name plate positioned at the entrance of the garden;
a four-foot iron fence at the back perimeter of the garden; 5 Crepe Myrtle trees; approximately 60 additional roses have been planted,
bringing the total to 106; two decorative arbors; additional gravel on paths; additional bark surrounding the roses; the statue of Our Blessed Mother now stands in a prominent position overlooking the
garden; at the base of each rose is a label with the name of the rose (if known); a plaque, noting a brief history of Our Blessed Mother’s Rose Garden, including prayers,
quotes, and a mission statement has been installed on a stucco column adjacent to the garden;
a directory of the roses, donated in memory of or in honor of a loved one, is located near the installed plaque.
Please plan to visit Our Blessed Mother’s Rose Garden, not only to see the new additions, but to savor the spiritual ambience created by its splendor. It is here for all to enjoy its beauty and serenity. The garden has been the work of many, with God’s purpose in mind – that of knowing and feeling His and His Mother’s presence in our lives.
We thank Bill and Joan and their committee for their continued commitment and dedication to Our Blessed Mother’s Rose Garden!
