We are delighted to present a solo exhibition from jeweller Nuala Jamison; presenting both new and archive work.
Nuala’s sculptural jewellery is inspired by urban city spaces as well as the southern Irish coastline. A long standing friend of the gallery, Nuala has exhibited with us for some 30 years. She was part of the ‘New Jewellery Movement’ between the mid 1970s and the late 1980s, which has also been referred to as ‘body sculpture’ or ‘wearable art’. Notably she designed jewellery and very distinctive buttons for Jean Muir’s collections.
Faceted Light proudly showcases Nuala’s love of colour.

“The acrylic material I use is made in sheet or rods and comes in over fifty beautiful colours. I carve and shape the pieces with pumice over several weeks to achieve the weathered appearance. I love colour and over time I have developed ways of dyeing and colouring the clear material to enhance the reflective qualities - sometimes creating a subtle blend of shades and other times mixing together contrasting colours.”Nuala Jamison
