Our ideaBe a fashion designer and design your unique Jeans online in few days. (www.designyourjeans.com)Existing competitorhttp://www.makeyourownjeans.com/ is a website for fit and size customization, not the finishing and the effects.Þ Our idea is pretty new in the market.

Do we have a place in the market?

After making a research about the new Jeans trend, we found that the effects on jeans are very important in fashion and the stylists are matching different effects to create their own fashionable product. Fashion is today incomplete without denim. Denim comes in all forms, looks and washes to match with every dressÞ We are completely able to follow the trend (fashion) with

our products..We are not only selling a new product, we are offering an opportunity to the people to design and create their own Jeans with a large varieties of fashionable effects with a competitive price.

Our product- Fashionable and unique Jeans

designed by our customers. - High quality, because we produce

piece by piece for each customer.

Our customersTeenagers from all over the world

(from 13 years old) because:- They are the first consumer of Jeans- They want to be special and different

from the others. Our products are also suitable for adults.

🔸We can see in this study that the brand name is not an important parameter for the customer. We will have more chance to find a

place in the market if we focus more on the design, the fit, the quality and of course the price.

Technical partWet and dry process for Jeans

Wet process

Pretreatment (Desizing, Rinsing and Scouring)🔸 This process

removes impurities, starch & stains mark from fabric.Acid wash

Soaked pieces of towel in chlorine or PP bleach solution for about 20 minutes to an hour. Then put the towels in machine followed by the jeans for about 20 minutes.

Bleach washwhen it comes to super vintage & light shade it’s advisable to use potassium permanganate bleach to cut the color faster till half way to adjust the desired shade.

Wet process

Tinting & dyeingTinting is a process where very less amount of tint is involved & mainly direct dye is being used to do this process.

Softening ProcessIt’s advisable to use Antiozonate softener which prolong ozone reaction of Indigo & keep garment in good condition.

Enzyme washUsed to remove protruded fiber from Jeans. It’s an alternate way to achieve stone wash effect without using pumice stone.

Dry process

Hand Scrapingis generally being done in rigid form of garments to get distress look.Locations can be front thigh & back seat or its can be overall. Emery paper is being used to scrape the garments in particular placement & design.

Tie & WashAlso known as crunch wash or creaking pattern or marbling effect. Garment is usually tied with white cotton strips and washed. The exposed portions got faded effects and a pattern of dark to light patches appears on garment.

Tacking or Tag Pining is a process which is being done by tag machine to get very heavy contrast ( rigid & washed ) on waistband, bottom hems etc. after completing wash, it must be removed from garment before making softening.

Dry process

Potassium Permanganate Spray/Rub & Bleach SprayPP Spray is being done on denim garments to achieve local abraded area to appear whiter than back ground indigo color shade.

Grindingis being done on pocket edges & bottom hems edges by running against pen grinding tools to achieve worn out effect.

Whisker/Knee starare nothing but the worn out lines / impression generated by natural wearing on hip & thigh area. There are many designs & pattern available.

Dry process

Painted JeansNeed to choose right color of pigment or tint with binder or fixer to apply locally on denim to get vintage look.

Resin application (3D effect) Resin (Formaldehyde free) being used for achieving 3D effect (3 Dimensional), Rigid Look etc.

Patch & Repairs along with Bleach SpotsThese are totally manual processes to give uniqueness to Denim and to make it look VINTAGE.

Damages & DestructionOne of the most popular distressing effects currently , It can be achieved by cutting it thru knife the warp yarns & keep the weft yarn as is to show white thread

Raw denim the jeans are not washed or treated when they are made, leaving that gorgeous raw indigo colour intact.Þ we can obtain several shades

using our bleaching/washing process, which means that we will use the same raw material for all our products. This is very important because we will have a limited stock, so less cost for the storage, and we will not have the problem of unsold items, because it could be used to create an infinity of fashionable products.

Variety management

Manufacturing process- Very short time (few hours).- Same types of chemicals will be

used for different wash effect (the process time changes) e.g. Bleach for acid wash, Bleach wash, Tie wash, Bleach spray…

- The instruments are used to make different effects e.g. Emery paper can be used for both Hand scraping and Whisker/Knee star…

Our workshopTo be able to produce our Jeans, we need a small place, e.g. garage because we are producing small quantities and the machines are not big.

Target costing

Our equipmentsWe will use a washing machine, a small boiler, spray gun, grinding machine, a pneumatique system, cutting tools…

Approximate cost/piece

Jeans in the market🔸 It is very common to find fashionable Jeans in the market at a price

starting from 60 euro and reaching 250 euro and more. But to be able to find a good market position, we have to make competitive prices. At the same time, we are offering something new and customised to our customers with a high quality.

🔸 Our starting price will be 89 euro reaching 119 euro (Depending on the effects the customers will choose).

Target Price

Risk of manufacturingSometimes it is difficult to obtain the required Jeans in the first try, that is why we have to consider this in our pricing target.

Critical Issues

Ideas for the future

🔸Our customers can share some ideas with us, and earn money if we sell their products.

🔸  🔸We can organise a stylist competition in our website. The

candidates will design some Jeans and a public vote will be made in some social websites, e.g. Facebook, Instagram…
