The Rotary Club of Redondo Beach is in District 5280.

The District covers the Greater Los Angeles Area

Rotary is an International Organization

In the beginning…

The first Rotary Club was organized in Chicago in 1905, by Paul P. Harris.

This first club, with four members, met in rotation at the offices of the members

- thus the name Rotary. There are currently 28,018 clubs with

1,188,172 members.

Rotary International is governed by a president and a board of directors elected

from all over the world.

• Rotary was not long to recognize that fellowship alone would not

keep a group together — there needed to be a purpose.

• First project was public washrooms in downtown Chicago.

• Rotary became the world’s first “service club”.

To be a Rotarian you must give of your time and talents:

YOUR OBLIGATIONS IN ROTARY

AttendanceAttendance at the weekly meetings is a benefit of Rotary. A minimum of 60% is expected.

You can maintain your attendance levels by making up at another Rotary Club within 14 days in advance or 14 days after a meeting is missed; or by attending a District event or a RI Convention. Or on-line.

Initiation Fee (one time) $75.00

Annual Dues $350.00/year payable (2 installments Jan 1 & July 1)

Paul Harris Fellowship $50.00 one time fee – matched by club to set up account

Meals $10.00/week

Meeting Expense $7.00/week

Fines $75.00/year

A service club should be fun to be a part of even when the work is tiresome.

Redondo Rotary strives to be a fun, young-at-heart club.

Social events are offered regularly.
