Beiträge zur Hallstattzeit am Rande der Südostalpen (Rahden/Westf. 2015)New book on the Early Iron Age

On June 10 and 11, 2010 was organized by Christoph Gutjahr fromWildon and Georg Tiefengraber from Graz at castle Wildon in Austrian Styria an international conference with the title NeueForschungen zur Hallstattzeit zwischen Ostalpen und Pannonien (New research on the Early Iron Age between the Eastern Alps and Pannonia). The participants came from Austrian Styria, Croatia, Bosnia andHerzegovina and Slovenia. The following Slovene archaeologists had a presentation: Miha Mlinar (Tolmin), Sneža Tecco Hvala (Ljubljana), Mitja Guštin (Koper), Branko Kerman (Murska Sobota), Marko Mele (Graz), Peter Turk (Ljubljana), Borut Križ (Novo mesto), and Dragan Božič (Ljubljana).

On July 30, 2015 were issued by the German archaeological publisher Marie Leidorf (Rahden/Westf.) the acts of this conference, edited by both organizers. They have a title Beiträge zur Hallstattzeit am Rande der Südostalpen (Contributions to the Hallstatt period at the margin of South-eastern Alps). They represent the 19th volume of the series Internationale Archäologie - Arbeitsgemeinschaft, Symposium, Tagung, Kongress.The papers were written by Desiree EBNER-BAUR from Austrian Carinthia, Christoph GUTJAHR from Wildon, Andrea CSAPLÁROS, Margret KRAMER, Susanne and Georg TIEFENGRABER from Graz, Marko DIZDAR and Daria LOŽNJAK DIZDAR from Zagreb, Ana MARIĆ and Andrijana PRAVIDUR from Sarajevo, Boris KAVUR and Andrej PRELOŽNIKfrom Piran as well as by Biba TERŽAN, Matija ČREŠNAR, Branko MUŠIČand Dragan BOŽIČ from Ljubljana.

The 15 papers deal with the hill-top settlement Čolaci near Donji Vakuf in middle Bosnia, the early Hallstatt graves from Slatina in the Croatian Drava region, the late Hallstatt femalegrave from Belišće in the same region, the barrows from Poštelanear Maribor, the absolute dating of the Early Iron Age in

eastern Slovenia, the graves of archers from Libna, the grave with the Vače situla, excavated in the years 1881 and 1882, thegrave with a double-crested helmet, found at Vače in 1889, the exceptional decorated socketed axe from the Magajna collection,the two-part late Certosa fibulae, the excavations of the cemetery at Frög in Carinthia, grave 3 from the cemetery at Kainach near Wildon, the cemetery near the Hauptschule in Wildon, the excavations at the site Karmeliterhof in Graz and the Hallstatt period central settlements in Upper Styria.
