NATA Question Paper Pattern

NATA exam mainly consists of 2 types of paper:

• Paper one: drawing test

• Paper two : aptitude test

Total time for exam : 3hrs

• Drawing part : 2 hrs.• Aptitude part : 1 hr. (varies)

Detailed review on Drawing part:

The first part of NATA exam is of 2 hrs. which is hand sketching. This paper expects one to be expertise in 3D-visualisation and communicate the same On paper.

The key testing points are:

• 3-D visualization• Presence of mind(in understanding question)• Observation skills • Proportions • Viewing angle• Paper Presentation • Rendering skills

Key points that candidate applying for NATA should know:

• 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional visualization and sketching.

• Proportions of buildings, human beings, natural landscape

• Light and shadow effect /presence of sun/day light etc.

• Observation of still life objects

• Colours and their application

• Observation of historical monuments

• Textures of different building materials etc.

Aptitude part deals with topics which tests one’s mental ability, Time management .

• 2-dimensional view of 3-dimensional objects

• Mathematics

• Statistics

• updated information about architecture

• knowing the roots of architecture

• Awareness of building details/notations etc.
