Each of us are better able to see how the Living God wants to work in our lives.

But there is something even more important. It’s

on HOW DO YOU DECIDE

HOW TO GO?

GENESIS 12:1-4

1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.

GENESIS 12:1-4

2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

GENESIS 12:1-4

3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse;and all peoples on earthwill be blessed through you.”

GENESIS 12:1-44 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.

WHO IS ABRAM / ABRAHAM?

Abram was a typical person, but with God’s work-over, he became a great man. His name still sparks vision, hope, and faith to millions of people around the world.

He brings encouragement to all of us, as we better understand God’s work in his life.

Abram was a slow learner. He did not learn for a long time how to apply God’s Word to his daily decisions, and so he faltered. He lost confidence; became hesitant.

Each of us are better able to see how the Living God wants to work in our lives.

But there is something even more important. It’s

on HOW DO YOU DECIDE

HOW TO GO?

How did God first enter into your own life? Was it a special or

normal-like experience?

THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE TODAY DETERMINE THE

STORIES YOU TELL TOMORROW.

PHILIPPIANS 3:88Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I may have Christ.

Like the decision of Abram - His Obedience, When did the Call Came? It came while he was living in ignorance and idolatry. He was not called because he was better than his countrymen.

How did the Call Came? - Whether he heard an audible voice, or whether the Spirit of God whispered the message into his heart by working in him an irresistible desire we know not; at any rate, the call was very personal.

To go somewhere else-

leave where you are.

To step toward your destiny,

step away from your security.

WHAT DOES THIS CALL INVOLVES?

1. An Entire Separation

"Leave your country, your people and your father's household”; must not

hinder

Every connection and friendship that stood

between him and the divine call must be broken

and left behind.

2. Separation from Sin

If a man is not willing to forsake his sins, he is not willing to

be saved.

Isaiah 55:7

Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on them, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.

3. A New Life

This life is a life of faith in God and fellowship with

God - a blessed life. All who obey God live

by faith.

God calls us not that we may be better than our

neighbors, but better than ourselves. God's saving call comes to us through

the Gospel.

WHAT DOES THIS CALL ACCOMPANY?

1. The Promise of a Possession

"A land that I will show thee."

2. The Promise of Being Made a Blessing

"I will bless thee, and thou shalt be a blessing." All the

families of the earth are being and will yet be blessed

through Abraham's seed (Christ).

We can only be a blessing for god after we have been blessed

by god.

This is god’s order. We are saved to

serve and go.

Isaiah 61:1The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.

Genesis 12:2-3

2“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

Genesis 12:2-3

3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse;and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

Hebrews 12:22 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Pioneer and Perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Sometimes the best decision you can make is to go

when it is easier to stay.

GENESIS 12:44 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.

What story do you want to tell?

We’re not changed by making

promises to god.

We are changed by believing god’s

promises to us.

You are a supernatural

person who lives in a natural world but

have a supernatural god.

Hebrews 11:1

11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

James 1:2

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,

whenever you face trials of many kinds.

GENESIS 12:44 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.

HOW WAS THE CALL RECEIVED?

After his father's death, Abram fully obeyed

(Genesis 12:4). Worldly wisdom will never help us in the life of faith.

Imagine if he didn’t go!

You can’t imagine the blessings if you obey or

what you miss if you don’t.We have an EVERLASTING

COVENANT FROM GOD.

What does god want you to want?

What step of faith do you need to

take?

What about you?

What faith step Do you need to take?

- Vision for a ministry- Have a family, have more children- Compose a song- Write a book- Foster or adopt - A Mission trip

Why don’t we go?

- Afraid of failure- Ridicule- Aren’t sure of ourselves- Do it later!

It takes faith to please god.

Hebrews 11:88 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

HE DIDN’T HAVE FAITH TO BELIEVE GOD FOR ALL OF

THIS – HAD FAITH TO START.

LOOK AT WHAT HE TOLD MOSES

EXODUS 3:10-11 10 So now, GO. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring My people the Israelites out of Egypt." 11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?"

Moses said, “What if they don’t believe me or listen

to me?”

“Throw staff to ground.” —then it became snake.

 Hand in pocket — Leprous

as snow

Take water from Nile and pour ground — blood

EXODUS 4:10-12

10 Moses said to the Lord, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since You have spoken to Your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

EXODUS 4:10-12 11 The Lord said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."

 Who wants to worship a

dead idol when you’ve met the Living God?

 - Can’t walk on water

unless you get out of the boat

- You have to step out to find out.

  - Jesus left doing

carpentry to go and teach. Disciples go into

the world.

CONCLUSION

IF YOU DECIDE TO GO AND FOLLOW THE WILL OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE, GO!

ISAIAH 49:7-8

7 … Kings will see you and rise up, princes will see you and bow down, because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

ISAIAH 49:7-8 8 This is what the LORD says : “In the time of My favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances.
