What are Reference Materials?

Reference materials provide information on different topics.

They are available in books or online.

DictionaryA reference book, or online resource, that contains an alphabetical listing of words and provides the definition, a pronunciation key, and the part of speech for each word.

EncyclopediaA set of books, or an online database, that provides information on a variety of topics. You can also use online reference materials.

ThesaurusA reference source that provides synonyms and antonyms for most words.

AlmanacA book that is published yearly. It has facts, figures, and statistics

AtlasA book of maps.
