The company was founded in 1955 by Mr. F. Micheletti
and was initially registered under the name F.
Micheletti. In 1963 the company was incorporated as
Micheletti & Co. Ltd, a private limited liability com-
pany under the Companies Code 1963 (Act 179). As
a result of improved performance over the years the
company obtained government certification under Fi-
nancial Class "D1" and "K1" Ministry of Works and
Housing Cert. registration # D 00425A.
Foundation Stages / 1955 - 2003In the course of the last fifty years, Micheletti & Co
Ltd have, through diligence and overriding commit-
ment to quality, delivered on many landmark projects
in the city of Accra and elsewhere in the country.
The year 2004 saw the company enter into a new
era. Ghana’s continued economic growth and the
strength of the local market created new opportuni-
ties for construction companies in Ghana. In the case
of Micheletti & Co. Ltd, the company’s solid construc-
tion reputation resulted in a buy-out by new share-
holders thereby providing Micheletti & Co. Ltd with
the management, technical and financial capacity to
compete in one of the most vibrant markets in West
Africa.
As a result of the new ownership, the company is
now part of a broader group of companies engaged
in Civil Engineering, Construction and Construction
Products and Estate Development. This link provided

A multi-use, 40,000 all-seater stadium in Accra, up-
graded and modernised to meet FIFA standards for
the CAN 2008 cup.
The work is characterised by the demolition of the
East, South and part of the VIP and North Stands to
be reconstructed in steel structures.
A new roofing structure on the VIP Stand is also de-
signed and cladding finishes applied to the external
structure.
New changing rooms, a new field and commercial
centre are also part of the project.

Villaggio is a sophisticated community of luxury apart-
ments and penthouses within easy reach of all of
Accra’s shops, restaurants and beaches. An embracing
landscape and clever design, however, ensure that the
apartments are a sanctuary of peace, security and pri-
vacy.

The project comprised of 15
luxurious apartments, a parking
space, swimming pool, drainage
system, and landscaping.
The construction comprised a
basement on a complete mat
foundation, water tight treat-
ment of the shear walls 4m
below ground level, a system of
traditional reinforce concrete
and prestress beam – pot slab
system.
The tight timeline required pro-
fessional constructional ap-
proach within the confides of
the available space. The highest
quality standard for both the
finishing and main structural
frame was the cardinal require-
ment.
This was achieved within the
project duration and budget.

Micheletti & Co. Ltd have been
appointed as the coordinating
building works subcontractor
for the refurbishment of several
buildings at the ‘37’ Military
Hospital in Accra.
The works are separated into
five separate buildings which in-
clude the refurbishment of the
three existing buildings namely
the theatre, sterilisation and
mortuary buildings as well as
the construction of new double
storey extensions to both the
theatre and mortuary buildings.
The scope, therefore, includes
both new build and refurbish-
ment elements and a key role
of the coordinating subcontrac-
tor is to fully coordinate the
services aspects of the project
with the building and fit-out as-
pects.
This coordination role also en-
compasses the facilitation of
decanting of hospital opera-
tions from occupied buildings
whilst minimizing disruption
and inconvenience to staff and
patients.
The challenges presented by a
functioning hospital facility dur-
ing construction require careful
and detailed planning and clear
communication of activities to
affected stakeholders.

mind.

In October 2009, Micheletti &
Co Ltd was approached by the
client to prepare a turn-key
project proposal for a commer-
cial office building in central
Accra.
Given the strategic location of
the property combined with
the physical restrictions on the
site, the design brief was simple
but specific - to create a six
storey building which conveys a
visual statement about NDK as
a modern, efficient and progres-
sive business.
Using this brief we commis-
sioned a design competition
and implemented a concept de-
velopment process which re-
sulted in a full turn-key
proposal comprising a 7,000m2
office development being pre-
sented to the client in Novem-
ber 2009.
After several discussions and
negotiations with all project
stakeholders including the
client, supervising consultants
and the relevant statutory bod-
ies, the design and build con-
tract was awarded to Micheletti
& Co. Ltd in mid April 2010.
Planning consent and building
regulatory approvals have al-
ready been obtained and de-
tailed design and enabling
works packages are now fully
underway.
The final development will in-
clude up to 4500m2 of high
specification office space, a roof
top canteen/restaurant area,
basement parking with a capac-
ity of over 60 cars and an ex-
ternally paved and landscaped
area.
