The DLSU College of Law (COL) hosted a series of talks on human
rights in commemoration of Senator Jose W. Diokno’s 30th death
anniversary. The inaugural lecture took place at the DLSU Rufino
Campus in Bonifacio Global City last February.
Themed “War on Drugs and Human Rights,” the series of talks
featured various speakers, including Philippine Vice President
Leni Robredo and human rights lawyer Atty. Pura Ferrer-Calleja.
DLSU President Br. Raymundo Suplido FSC and DLSU COL
Founding Dean Atty. Jose Manuel Diokno graced the inaugural
event.
Lecture series on human rights commemorates Sen. Diokno legacy “We must develop lawyers who have the ideals and values that
can serve this country, lawyers who practice not only for them
selves or their families, but who are mindful of the larger picture.
Our goal is to mold competent lawyers in any field who respect
and uphold human rights,” Diokno explained why mounting the
event was important for the COL students.
The College in partnership with the Law Student Government
organized the lecture series.

PPSA also seeks to bring together political scientists from
all as well as similar fields of inquiry and practice both within
and outside the academic setting. This is in order to expand
awareness and understanding of the politics of Asia and the
study of all issues in the field of Political Science by Filipino
political scientists.
The Store at DLSU is now located at the Yuchengco Block.
It is open from Mondays to Fridays (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Saturdays(8 a. m.-12 nn.).
During the opening of The Store at its new location last
February 14, Office for Strategic Communications Executive
Director Johannes Leo Badillo shared the main goals
and mandate of The Store. He pointed out how it has
helped promote DLSU’s mark of excellence and protect
the University’s logos and trademarks. He also noted how
members of the Lasallian community have helped build the
Animo through DLSU merchandise.
STRATCOM led the ceremonial turnover of The Store’s
proceeds amounting to P1.5 million to Assistant Vice
Chancellor for Academic Services Kai Shan Fernandez and
Office of Admissions and Scholarship Director Maria Paz
Trinidad.
Proceeds from The Store go to
DLSU’s scholarship programs.
DLSU Industrial Engineering (IE) students won awards in the
14th Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) National
Congress. IE majors Anton Miguel Santos (IME-SM) and Keith
Bradley Lim (IME-SM) were awarded first place in the 14th PIIE
National Student Congress Feasibility Studies Presentation
competition held last February 24 at PUP-Manila. The awarding
was held at SMX-Mall of Asia on February 25.
Their feasibility study showed how a small investment in the
renovation of a public market would have more than 10 times the
returns on capital invested, clearly showing the feasibility of public
financing on a community provision.
