Story of Molly Maid and“Be The Boss” TV show…

• KC saw an opportunity to educate about the company

• She took her job very seriously and was excited to tell others about this helpful and beneficial service

• She was later commended for seeing an opportunity and taking it

• This story is a parallel to what Jesus spoke of in the Great Commission of Matthew 28

• There are several parts that we need to pay attention to

• This needs to be on our minds everywhere we go…

• Some will not submit unless the one sending them has the authority to do so• Christ had been given all authority both

in heaven and on earth• God had given Him the right to send us

into the mission field

• We receive our marching orders from the head of the church (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18)• Christ always submitted to the will of

God, now the authority to send was His (Rev. 5)• We, therefore, must obey

• Jesus begins the command with the verb “Go”

• This word is literally translated “as you go”

• In other words, this action should take place as we are going about our day to day lives

• “Go” doesn’t necessarily mean to a foreign country, or away from home

• We evangelize “as we go”

• As we go to the office…

• As we go to school…

• As we go to the store…

• Following the verb “Go”, we see an assignment given to us “as we go”

• There are three main things that we are told to do as we follow our command to go into the world

• Those three things are:

Adhere

• Adherence is making disciples; making them “stick” as followers of Christ

• Jesus stressed discipleship in His word• Luke 14:27, 33 – Sacrifices of being a

disciple• Matthew 16:24-25 – Desire of being a

disciple• Luke 9:57-62 – Counting the cost of

discipleship

• Baptism is our admittance into the kingdom

• Acts 2:38, 47

• Galatians 3:27

• Romans 6:3-6

• Ephesians 1:7

• Advise = Teach

• We do not simply baptize a person and then forget about them

• We must follow up with sound teaching

• They must be taught to “observe all things that I have commanded you”

• This command does not come without some assurance as we go out and work

• Jesus promised that He would be with us always

• Do we think about Him being there with us as we go out and tell others about Him?

• This should be a boost as we work!

• We see the scriptures, but we also need to see the animation of it

• Animation is the coming to life of the commandments God gives us

• We see Jesus carrying out this command that He gave in John 4

• Jesus practiced “as you go” evangelism in His ministry

• As He went for a drink of water, He saw an opportunity and took advantage of it

• Paul practiced “as you go” evangelism in Acts 17

• Paul was in Athens waiting for Silas and Timothy

• “while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him…” (v. 16)

• He also did it in chapter 16 while imprisoned in Philippi
