Mass & Volume

Finally, add up all the weights and remember to state the answer grams (g).

Be sure each of the larger weights is in a notch, not in between!

Volume

• The amount of space taken up or occupied by an object

VolumeMeasurement of the amount of space an object takes up– Measured in milliliters (ml) for liquids or cm3

for solids

Measuring Volume of Irregular solids

RememberIf you use water displacement to measure the volume of an irregular solid, your result will be in mL.You MUST state the answer in cm3 because it is a solid!!!!1mL = 1 cm3 so just write cm3 instead of ml.Example:12.3 mL = 12.3 cm3
