Your equipment for tonight’s work: A map of your neighborhood Markers – red and green Dots – Blue, Green, Pink, Red, Yellow… A flip chart and more markers “Patterns” of future development handout

Your instructions for tonight’s work:1. Identify community assets and values 2. Circle the strong areas – block by block3. Circle the weak areas – block by block4. Locate areas you want to change …. and
place a dot for the change you want

1. Identify community assets and values (15 minutes)
Put a BLUE dot on the places you feel are important neighborhood assets
Number the dot. Make a note on the newsprint if needed.

2. Locate the strong areas – block by block (20 minutes)
Use the GREEN marker to circle the strong blocks.
Number the block and make a note on the newsprint why the area is strong.
If people at your table disagree… make a note of your disagreement on the newsprint.

3. Locate areas that are weak or where change is desired – block by block (20 Minutes)
Use the RED marker to circle the weak blocks. Number the block and make a note on the
newsprint why the area is weak. If people at your table disagree… make a note
