Road/Lane Closures Throughout the project, the traffic will be restricted to local traffic only. Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum. Construction signs will be posted and the site will be barricaded. Please exercise caution and obey all sings placed for your safety.

Access Vehicle access to and from your properties may at times be difficult, additionally; driveways will be temporarily closed when work is being carried out in the immediate vicinity. Either the inspector or the contractor will notify you of access interruptions prior to the closure.

Parking For the duration of construction when your driveway is inaccessible or closed, please park on neighbouring streets, where no construction is taking place and register your vehicle for the On-Street Parking Exemption Program at:

905-335-7844 - 24-hour voice message. How does a parking exemption work?

It allows a vehicle to park on the street beyond the 5-hour limit or overnight between 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., up to 15 days per calendar year, per license plate.

The only two parking offences waived AFTER a vehicle is registered for a parking exemption are:

May 2017 Update # 1

1. Park exceeding 5-hour limit 2. Park between 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

All other parking offences apply as they are not part of the parking exemption program. During City construction projects.

The extra days will not be included in the 15-day per year limit when your driveway is not accessible.

However, it is important to register your vehicle for this program so that you will not receive a parking ticket.

For any parking related questions, please contact Parking Services at 905-335-7816 during business hours (8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday).

Vibration You may at times experience some minor vibration as a result of construction equipment. We recommend

that you remove small light objects from shelving around the house.

Garbage Please continue to put your garbage and recycling out on the usual day. It is the contractor’s responsibility to move your garbage to a location that it can be accessed by the garbage truck and return your garbage containers. In order to help the contractor we would ask that you indicate, on you garbage cans and recycling bins, your house numbers. Lawn Irrigation System If you have a lawn irrigation system where curb and sidewalk are to be replaced, we recommend you disconnect and remove any sprinkler heads within the City’s road allowance. Please flag all other irrigation heads, so they are not damaged. The City is not responsible for damaged heads within the road allowance. This does not have to be done until work in your area is scheduled.
