• Helsinki Metropolitan area in Finland is an excellent location for co-creating and testing out new products, services and social innovation. One of the strengths of the Finnish innovation environment is the active and successful dialogue involving citizens, companies, research institutes and the public sector.
• RIS3 strategy for the Helsinki-Uusimaa Region priority Active Citizen emphasizes e.g. user oriented service systems, co-development and open service models. DigiSmart Project is coordinating this priority between years 2016-2018.
• Three Universities of Applied Sciences compose a strong innovation, coordination, orchestration and mobilization power with 35 000 students and 2 200 staff members

• Connects existing stakeholders and projects
• Generates new project ideas, proposals and blanks for service models in Helsinki-Uusimaa region and internationally
• Enhances learning in networks and added value creation
• Realizes in co-operation of three Universities of Applied Sciences; Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia,
