MailRetriever permits restores directly to PST files for portability or restores back to an original or alternate location on the Exchange Server.

About MailRetriever for Exchange

MailRetriever for Exchange is capable of restoring e-mail objects of any type, from a single item to an entire mailbox. It restores directly into an Exchange online store or into a PST file. The requirements for using the restore functionality are:

Outlook 2003 or better installed on the server.

At least one MAPI profile created using an account that has rights to access the mailboxes in the store to which you would like to perform restores.

For each recovery option, MailRetriever for Exchange ensures quick and simple restoring procedure.

Option 1Redirect restored items to Recovery folder

Redirecting restored items to the recovery folder – restores selected items (including folder hierarchy) to a recovery of an online mailbox of your choice.

The recovery folder name will include date and time of the restore and the folder will be placed under the root of the chosen user's mailbox.

After the recovery is completed, the folder hierarchy will be restored in the users' mailbox.

1. Select a user and expand his/her Mailbox.

2. Navigate to “Top of Information Store”.

3. Navigate to “Calendar”.

4. Mark appointments you wish to restore and right-click on them.

Select “Restore Messages”.

5. “Restore Wizard” opens.

In the “Restore Wizard” select the first option.

6. Select Mailbox and click “Next”.

7. Review the list of items – candidates for restore - and click “Start”.

8. Restore is completed.

9. The items restored can now be reviewed via Microsoft Outlook.

1. Mark appointments you wish to restore and right-click on them.

Select “Restore Messages”.

In the “Restore Wizard” select the second option.

Identify the location for the PST file.

Click “Next”.
