STAGE 3a: THE DESIGNA design concept is created using a selected part of the pattern. This selection is based on a variety of constraints & considerations such as the likely movement of people within the place & aesthetically interesting aspects of the pattern.

STAGE 4b: THE PLACEColour & texture associated with the material (for example) can then be applied to create a full colour masterplan.

STAGE 3b: THE DESIGNThe transition of the colour design concept to grey-scale is preparation for the filter process.

STAGE 4c: THE PLACEPerspective images provide the user with an idea on how the place will look & feel. Elements such as seating & a water feature have been added to illustrate developments from the colour masterplan.

STAGE 3c: THE DESIGNThe filters create the transition from a design concept into a place. This process is achieved by using the grey-scale tones in the design to determine elements that can define a place such as materials.

STAGE 4d: THE PLACEPerspective images provide the user with an idea on how the place will look & feel. Elements such as seating & a water feature have been added to illustrate developments from the colour masterplan.

STAGE 4a: THE PLACEThe transition from pattern to place using the selected filter initially creates a greyscale plan.

STAGE 1: THE PICTUREThe picture is based on flora which will be used within the place. The selected picture aims to highlight characteristics & qualities of the flora.

STAGE 2: THE PATTERNUsing CAD, the picture is altered to reveal abstract patterns that will be used to create a design concept(s).
