FROM THE LIBRARY:
Westside’s Battle of the Books team, led by our 4th grade students, has been practicing throughout January to memorize book trivia questions and match authors to books. They will compete this month to determine our four Westside representatives who will battle it out against other schools in the state to see who knows the most about this year’s books. Best of luck to our book warriors!
FROM PTO:
Again this year, our Westside PTO will coordinate the Eaton’s Pizza Fundraiser. Your child will be bringing home an order form and envelope if you wish to participate in the fundraiser. If you don’t care to sell pizzas but still want to fundraise along with our PTO, you can participate in the Alternative Fundraiser. A form outlining the Alternative Fundraiser is attached to the top of the Eaton’s Pizza Order Form which each child will be bringing home today and is also included with our Wednesday Notes. Please contact PTO if you have any questions. Thank you! westsideeaglespto@gmail.com

Lip Suckers are BACK, and just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Student Council will be starting sales on Thursday,
February 6th! --Cost is only $1.00--
All profits will be going to the Fox Valley Metro Police Department.
The Fox Valley Metro Police Department is currently trying to raise money to purchase a K9 Unit.
Currently, Metro has to rely on other departments to borrow their dogs. The K9 Unit is a valuable resource for the department as well as our community. It will be used for drug detection and tracking which will help keep our schools and community safe. Officer
Meister says that every little bit counts when it comes to raising money for this K9 Unit. Their goal is
to raise between $80,000-$90,000 to be able to purchase the dog, train and compensate the handler,
and purchase a new vehicle for the dog as well. Please consider donating to this great cause as Westside
helps raise money for the Metro K9 Unit.
Hello Families, Coming home today you will see two fundraiser options for Westside PTO. One is our ever so popular Eaton’s Pizza fundraiser and the other is an alternative way to raise funds for the PTO by making a monetary donation. The Eaton’s Pizzas are delicious and made fresh. There is also the option to purchase coupons and then later go pick up your pizzas from Eaton’s. Both fundraisers run from February 5th until February 24th. The money from these fundraisers will directly benefit the students at Westside by purchasing activities and supplies your child will be able to enjoy for years to come. If you have any questions please email Westside PTO at westsideeaglespto@gmail.com. Thank you, Westside PTO Hello Families, Coming home today you will see two fundraiser options for Westside PTO. Happy New Year! “Goodbye” 201 and “Hello” to 20 ! We’ve done a great job collecting
and scanning Box Tops this year, but we can still use your help! Use this collection sheet to send in your clipped box tops now until February 12th.
NAME:___________________________ CLASS: ______________________
IMPORTANT REMINDERS: Have you started using the app? It is as easy as scanning your receipt. No more cutting and have them lay around!
Remember: You need to scan within two weeks. After scanning, click on "credit" to enter your child's teacher's name.
Need more one-on-one help? Attend a PTO meeting or send a note with your questions, comments or concerns and we will get back to you.
Why should you submit Box Tops? It's helped to buy a new slide, new books, host dances/events and more! So thank you!
ONE WEEK LEFT to turn in those box tops
for a chance to win!
