Live where you love.Villa Gardens
you could live in the heart of your favorite place,
and have most of the mundane chores of
everyday living taken care of? Imagine the freedom to
pursue everything you love to do,
nurture your wellbeing, and live your life
as you please.
WHAT IF
Your Villa Gardens address gives you access to all the arts, culture and adventure of Pasadena.
How about front row seats to the Pasadena Symphony,
exploring the antique stores, lunch at a sidewalk café,
browsing bestsellers at Vroman’s, dinner and a show at
the Pasadena Playhouse, the latest exhibit at the Norton
Simon Museum, or strolling The Huntington Library’s
botanical gardens in nearby San Marino?
You’ll enjoy the best of both worlds here, an
apartment home in an established part of town
where giant sycamores shade quiet streets. And yet
just minutes from your door lies all the excitement
and sophistication of the City of Roses.
You can walk, drive your car, or take a seat on our
shuttle. And then there’s the Metro Gold Line with
six stops in Pasadena including one just two blocks
from Villa Gardens. Hop aboard to visit Old Town, or
head south into Los Angeles for an LA Philharmonic
concert or day trip to Chinatown.
Most Villa Gardens residences come with a
balcony, and many offer views of the awe-inspiring
San Gabriel Mountains. Want to play? Brookside Golf
Club features two public courses and Brookside Park
has the best public tennis courts in town. Walkers
enjoy the 5K loop around the Rose Bowl stadium or
the tree-lined paths of 30-acre Lacy Park.
With so much to do and see, it’s no wonder
Pasadena attracts some of the most fascinating,
well-traveled and well-educated people around.
People you’ll love to call your neighbors.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS AWAITS YOU.
LOTS OF WAYS TO GET AROUND.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PASADENA PASTIME?
Del
As a consulting engineer for 20
years, I have done extensive
research in the field of concrete
erosion. These days, I like to read,
walk the neighborhoods and
take exercise classes. I also enjoy
the friends we’ve made here; it’s
like being introduced to a whole
new family.
Bob
I’ve been a serious, well-traveled
birder for many years, but since
I moved to Villa Gardens, I’ve
added stamp collecting to my
hobbies. I also enjoy the writing
classes here, the chamber music
performances and attending
Pasadena Area Liberal Arts Center
discussion series.
Janice
Even as a child I was interested in
engineering and physics. I went
on to a career in experimental
nuclear and particle physics. I also
love playing chamber music –
piano ensembles – and spending
time with my daughter, a research
physicist at Cal Tech, and her family.
Edith
A Delaware native, I’ve lived in
Connecticut and New York City
before moving to California. My
husband, three children and I
lived in the same San Marino
house for 45 years. I volunteered
a lot and turned a stint with
the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society into a 20-year career!
Minnie
I was born in a small mining town
in Arizona where my father ran a
grocery store. I taught home eco-
nomics for LA Unified, and belong
to the church right next door to
Villa Gardens. Now I’m the assis-
tant librarian and I volunteer at
our resident store – just like I did
as a kid!
Evon
I’m an import – born and raised
in Brentford, Ontario, Canada.
I came to the U.S. to serve Youth
for Christ International and other
Christian organizations. My
specialty was fundraising. Now
I have my church next door, my
family close by and everything
I need under one roof.
Jon
I retired from NASA’s JPL at
Cal Tech, but it’s my adventures
mountain climbing that people
ask me about most. I’ve summited
over 500 peaks, including Mt.
Kilimanjaro, and volunteered doing
search and rescue in the Sierra
Madres, the mountains you can
see from Villa Gardens.
Carol
I grew up in San Gabriel, gradu-
ated from Stanford, attended
Harvard Business School and
eventually earned my MBA from
UCLA. Now I’m close to my
grandchildren in San Marino and
get to enjoy beautiful views of the
same mountains I could barely
see while growing up!
Barbara
I’ve lived and worked here in
Pasadena for over 40 years!
I love it – the trees, the people,
the restaurants, the theatres
and the close proximity to all of
Los Angeles. Villa Gardens gives
me the freedom to spend my time
volunteering and enjoying my
family – my greatest passion.
