elbow • Use thumb to

roll vein to outside

• While rolling, push down firmly with thumb

lower rear legs)– Useful for head shy or anxious dogs

Sites for venipuncture• Medial saphenous veins (inside upper rear legs)– Good site for collecting blood sample from cats
