Wealthy home owners are no different from the rest of us in
viewing the garden as an extension of home design - they
just have more to spend on it. If you’re wielding powerful
technologies to deliver brilliant utility and invisible integration
inside the property, the client will almost certainly be ready
and willing to expand outside, where the motivation to enjoy,
socialise and impress is just as strong. At this time of year,
when upmarket garden centres are brimming with excuses to
get outdoors and entertain you’ll be giving the client another
one, and Habitech is ready to share in the challenge.
Our leading loudspeaker brand Sonance has the widest
choice of high performance garden speakers for every
application and budget, now incorporated under the ‘Outdoor’
range banner. It includes a peerless good/better/best product
hierarchy, backed by the value-added quality of Habitech
supply and support, including design services and free-of-
charge loan systems.
Make it GoodNear the home or outbuildings, around the
pool or patio areas, great sound and versatility
come as standard. For instance, your clients
will love the experience of stepping outside
to enjoy consistent VP sound quality and
luxuriously discreet looks. The VP Extreme
range of in-wall all-weather models offers the
character of the interior VP speakers but is
engineered with samarium cobalt magnets
and 316L stainless steel to withstand the
rigours of fresh and salt water environments at
temperatures ranging from -30°C to +79°C.
They’re as easily at home near a
volcanic spring in Iceland as they
are by the pool or Jacuzzi in Hemel
Hempstead. Put them to the test!
Alternatively, surface mount great
sound using the durable Mariner range
of tough, paintable, sealed polypropylene
enclosures in 8”, 6.5” and 5.25” versions.
They offer a wide degree of pivot from
any exterior surface using a patented
FastMount push-and-lock bracket
system, which eliminates clumsy threaded
knobs and guards against theft.
You also have the option to spread the
sound quality to adjacent flower beds
or rockeries as well with the super-
durable Sonance Rock satellites
and sub. Regardless of
terrain, the Sonance Outdoor
range allows you to design
discreet, wideband, weather-
fast sound. And we’re just
scraping the surface…
Make it Even BetterIn to the garden proper, the excellent SonArray package
has the form-factor of the high-end Landscape models
at a more accessible price. It’s an easy-to-install sat/sub
system, designed for uniform sound coverage and, to keep
the neighbours happy, minimal sonic overspill. Of course the
audio specs aren’t as supreme as those of the Landscape

series but, at a fraction of cost, the appeal is clear. You’ll
get eight distinctive satellites, and an 8” dual voice-coil
underground subwoofer - all merchandised in a single carton.
The SonArray is capable of detailed, evenly distributed audio
in outdoor spaces up to 185m², and presents an easy 8ohm
load for any standard amplifier. It installs in a simple daisy-
chain configuration, with the subwoofer connected to both
channels. The bijou horn-shaped SonArray SR1 speakers are
discreet enough to be located under plants or foliage, so the
system won’t compromise garden design.
Ultimate OutdoorUp in scale from SonArray, the supercharged Landscape
Series High Output (HO) models are designed for large
residential installations. Following the same sat/sub
configuration but with up-scaled audio potential, the range of
4/6/8 inch diameter satellites and 10/12/15 inch underground
subs combine in three compatible 70V systems of multiple
speaker arrays, daisy-chained for ease of installation and
scalability. Although you’ll need a digger for the big subs,
there’s a JCB-free alternative in the form of a 10-inch
‘Hardscape’ subwoofer, designed to be integrated with patio
furniture or planter boxes.
All Landscape systems deliver an audiophile-quality
sound field with minimal hot spots and dead zones in any
landscape at extremely high sound pressure levels, and
they’re built to survive abuse from boot or strimmer without a
scratch. The systems are unashamedly top dollar, but when
your richest clients place the look and functionality of their
gardens on a par with their interior spaces, the Landscape
series offers you the chance to capitalise.
Where there’s a garden…Be in no doubt, there’s cash in every manicured border.
Recently we’ve worked with our integrators to design and
complete a £250,000 garden installation using buried
Landscape elements, and a swanky Kensington roof terrace
utilising the ‘Hardscape’ sub and surface-mount adaptors for
the Landscape Satellites. It’s time to explore the last reserve
of untapped potential in home entertainment with the brilliantly
versatile Sonance ‘Outdoor’ range - no exterior space is
beyond its capabilities. Ask about our design services and
demo systems and together we’ll grow new business.
