The area
South Africa as its name suggests is in south Africa.
It is split up into 9 different areas. In the middle of South Africa is another country called Lesotho and to the eastern border is Swaziland, to the
north is Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
National Parks
There are many wildlife reserves in South Africa. The biggest is Kruger National Part in the north east of the country. The parks are there to protect the animals and the natural landscape of South Africa.
Life in South Africa
Africa is very hot but there is little water so many of the animals have to adapt to surviving without water for a long time. There are many predators so antelope and zebra always have to be on their guard.
The problems
• Despite it being illegal, poaching is very common.
• Elephants are killed for their tusks and other animals are killed for their fur which can fetch great deals of money.
