The project is situated near Karmakitta Tarni Village in Jarmundi Block of Dumka District in Jharkhandstate
The 50 year 24 hour point rainfall for the catchment is 240 mm vide plate-9 of the Flood Estimation
Report for Lower Ganga Plains Sub-Zone 1 (g)
Thus the 15 hr rainfall =240*0.860mm =
The Areal to Point Rainfall % as per Fig 12b, annex-4.2 of the report is 91.31 for
306.66sqkm . Therefore the 50 year 15 hour areal 'Rainfall' for Karmakitta Tarniproject is 206.4*0.9131=
Using the distribution percentages given in Annexe 4.1 or fig-11, the 50 year 15hr areal rainfall is splitinto 1hr rainfall increments as below.
