Reflection

• Write two sentences about a person who didn’t do their work.

• The first sentence should list the responsibilities they didn’t meet. The second sentence should describe the way you communicated with them (that didn’t work).

• With your partner list two alternative communication strategies

Discussion

• How do you deal with rude people? If someone is rude to you, or refuses to follow instructions, but you HAVE TO work with them, what can you do to ensure a pleasant working environment?

Role play:Person A: Is in the ‘fluffy cats’ team. You had five records to do. You only finished three.

Person B: You are the team leader of the ‘fluffy cats’ team which has four people in it. You noticed that the other members of the team (persons C & D) are close friends who only made fun of any ideas Person A made at the start of the course.

Critique

• Share what you’ve written with the person sitting near you. Ask her or him to give you one comment on your solution: does he or she think that it is a practical one? Does he or she have any ideas about another way to deal with the problem?

Consultation time

● “But nobody listens to ME”.

- That can/will/does change.

● “How?”

- Come and ask me.
